Solitary visit

The tone Wabu uses when he talks about visiting his dead friends makes it clear he doesn't want any company. You give him a polite farewell and head toward the Quest Board.

You're feeling confused about the things that the tortle said about Amin. The whole world thinks Amin is a great hero, and so do you. You decide the tortle must be suffering from sour grapes of some kind, and put the conversation out of your head.

When you get to the quest board, you find the job just right for a novice spellcaster such as yourself. What job do you pick?

Magical party clown -- Lord Elon, a minor noble but very prosperous merchant, wants to hire a spellcaster as part of the lavish celebration for his youngest daughter's eighteenth birthday

Detective's assistant -- A leonin death domain cleric named Teoz had died under mysterious circumstances. His family has hired a seasoned warrior named Garret, a male human fighter who has also developed a reputation as a sleuth. Garret is looking to hire a spellcaster to help do something called "forensics."

Caravan sorcerer -- A small caravan is traveling from the capitol to a major Kingdom city. The trip is entirely on a well established, well patrolled stretch of royal highway, but the merchant whose goods are being moved by the caravan still wants a sorcerer among the mix of fighters accompanying it

Teaching assistant -- An instructor of magic at the Academy needs a teaching assistant. In return for his services, the teaching assistant gets room and board plus advanced magical instruction

Pest control -- A noble family opening their city house for the summer needs assistance in clearing the house of small, magical nuisances
