This choice: Super puberty has already begun. • Go Back...Chapter #4Super puberty has already begun. by: Parker1689 Scott frowned as he stared at the number next to his door frame, 6' 1".
That's another inch since yesterday!
He looked forlornly at his clothes choices, standing in white briefs and socks. His mom was gonna kill him.
Come on, something's gotta fit me. Right?
He frantically began trying on all his new clothes. His frown turned to full on dread as his fears were confirmed, none of his pants and shirts fit him properly.
He would have to go clothes shopping, again. For the third time in three weeks.
The teen heard a soft knock at the door, "Scotty?"
Scott sighed as he turned toward the door, recognizing his little brothers voice, "Come in." He didn't much care he was in his underwear, the two brothers had shared a room for years until they moved a couple years ago, where they'd each gotten separate rooms.
The door immediately opened as his 12 year old brother, Tyler came in. His blond hair neatly combed, wearing a polo shirt and pants which draped over a similar frame as his brother's. His eyes widened behind his glasses seeing Scott's lack of attire.
"Did you...?" Tyler asked, wonder apparent as he looked up and down at his big brother.
Scott grunted as he pointed at the mark on the height chart with today's date. The tween's eyes widened, saying in a whisper, "You broke six feet."
Scott sighed as he plopped on the bed, noting he could now look Tyler in the eye while sitting. "One and a half feet in under three weeks. An entire inch in less than a day."
"Well, you've definitely out paced me bro." Tyler teased, trying to cheer his brother up. Until a month ago, the two of them were near the same height, the youngest teasing he would surpass him at one point. Then Scott started growing, and growing.
At first, the brothers cheered at Scott's growth spurt. Scott's height had been a point of embarrassment for him since Middle School, especially with Bart. Everyone had grown taller than him, even his two best friends; Ryouta and Jacob had grown a little taller.
Now though? Scott was pretty sure he'd surpassed all but the tallest kids in his upcoming freshman class. What's more, both of his friends have been radio silent since this started. He really wanted to talk to them, especially Ryouta after there last conversation.
His little brother looked at the pile of clothes, "I'll get something from Aiden's room. Gotta hurry before mom gets antsy."
Tyler left in a near sprint, leaving his brother to his thoughts. Aidan was there elder brother, off to college on the East Coast. Unfortunately, Aidan had stayed behind for the summer to do additional classes. The younger siblings missed him terribly, but they still talked online daily.
Besides congratulating Scott on his growth spurt, he'd given him full reign on any of his old clothes if Scott grew tall enough.
He looked down at his lanky legs, noting his socks were tighter on his toes. Although his white briefs surprisingly still fit fine on him.
The door pushed open as Tyler came in with a noticeably bigger polo shirt, pants, and shoes. "This is all I could find that mom won't object to in Aidan's closet."
Scott gave a glance before nodding, offering an appreciative smile, "Thanks, Tye." His brother beamed happily.
His brother had a good eye, each piece fit him loosely as he put them on. The blue polo shirt sleeves draped past his elbows while the hem nearly reached past his thighs. The tan pants were long, requiring Scott to roll the legs up two times. The waist had nearly two inches of space, requiring a belt to stay up.
As he fished a belt from his previous slacks, Tyler spoke up, "Still hurting?"
Scott stalled for a sec, turning to see the worry on his little brother's face. Not having the heart to lie, Scott commented shakily, "Y-yeah."
The worry lines grew as Tyler's frown deepened, "We need to te-!"
"No..." Scott shook his head, putting the belt through the hoops of his pants, "...I'm fine bro."
"But didn't the reports online sa...!" Tye began before Scott interjected.
"I know what they said, Tye." Anger flared in Scotts voice, before dying a few syllables later upon seeing the fear in his little brothers eyes.
All reports he could find had people having growths like this over a period of a year, not weeks. Maybe it's Gigantism with my pituitary gland? Those who suffered from that condition needed brain surgery or else their body grew too big for their heart.
That's what Tye's worried about.
Putting up his hands in surrender, Scott offered, "Look, after today, I'll tell them. I promise." He sat down on the bed, pushing his feet into the provided shoes.
"Really?" Tye looked hopefully into his brother's eyes, before lowering, "You don't have to suffer because of me."
"I'm not suffering, Tye. I wouldn't miss this for the world." He wrapped as much sincerity as he could in those words. It's not everyday your little brother gets an award for Mathletes.
Tye worked super hard to get on the Middle School team, and even harder during competition. Scott remembered quizzing Tye countless times. That hard work allowed them to win state and move on to the regional tournament during the beginning of summer.
Unfortunately, they lost in the third round, but were treated to a heroes welcome upon their return. The award today was being presented by the Mayor and Superintendent to their team for being the first team ever to win state.
Scott's thoughts were interrupted as his little brother barreled into his chest, hugging him tightly. The older brother smiled warmly as he hugged back, comforting him. The little boy whimpered, "I love you Scotty."
"Love you too, Tye. Let me finish getting ready before Mom and Dad start yelling at us."
Tye nodded as he pulled away and left Scott alone to his thoughts. The boy quickly finished up in the bathroom before running downstairs.
His Mom stood at the bottom, giving him a once over. Scott smiled weakly as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "I swear, you're going to drive me mad before the month is out. Guess we'll be going shopping tomorrow."
His Dad peaked around the corner, hearing his wife's words. They widened upon seeing Scott's attire, "Wait is th-"
"Yep." His mother interrupted as she walked back into the kitchen to sit down across from Tye.
"Sorry." Scott offered as he came up beside dad, who now stood a head shorter than him.
His Dad shook his head as he looked up at him, "Why're you sorry? Not like you did this on purpose."
His mom pointed a finger at Scott, smiling mischievously, "No honey, he's totally doing this on purpose to drive us both crazy. Either that or get us on the rewards program at the clothing store. I think we're almost on a first name basis there."
That got everyone laughing before his mom got up and hugged Scott, "Sorry honey. I'm not mad at you, just frustrated that this keeps happening. I'm going to have to setup an appointment with your doctor. This growth spurt is insane!"
The mention of the doctor had Tye lookup from his seat at the table. Scott eyed him out of the corner of his eye before frowning at his mom, "You really think so?"
"It's our job to worry Scott. Your mother and I just want to make sure everything is alright with you." His Dad interjected as he came up beside her.
"Alright, but shouldn't we get moving? Pretty sure we're going to be late." Pointing at the clock on the wall for emphasis. He really didn't want to talk about this right now.
Mom rolled her eyes as Dad chuckled, "Sense when has a teenager been this enthusiastic about going to school?"
Scott's cheeks reddened at his Dad's comment, "I mean it's Tye's big day..." He trailed off, noticing his brother looking right at him with a placid expression.
His Mom pinched his cheeks, pulling his gaze from his brother as she cooed, "Aww, somebody loves his brother."
"Alright Rioux family, to the van!" Dad remarked heroically. Both boys cringed in embarrassment as they followed them out of the house.
(Little did they know, today would be a big day for Scott. Where super puberty would make itself known to him and his family. And later, the world.)
(I will be updating this thread and have marked appropriately.) indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
