Nick took a deep breath of the cool, crisp air from a top of an Irish cliff that stood tall above the ocean. He was dressed in Viking attire, but with his left arm and right leg wrapped in blue with a few soft white balls that would be CGI'd over for Gobber's peg leg and hook hand. Nick was in Ireland on the set of the live action version of How to Train Your Dragon.
It felt nice to be on another big blockbuster set. He had been doing plenty of smaller passion projects which he enjoyed but found himself drawn to this project. Nick had always felt like maybe straight wasn't quite right label for him. When he and Simon Pegg were broke and living together and sharing everything, including a bed, Nick found himself wondering if he had feelings for his best mate.
As his star shot up from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz he found that he was actually considered a sex symbol online. He found out that he was quite the hit from the Bear Community, even seeing plenty of gay couples cosplay as him and Simon Pegg's characters from their movies together. Nick got a little excited seeing couples as Shaun and Ed kissing each other.
A few years later he leaned into this community for his role in Unfinished Business where he got a full on leather outfit for the role which made him feel powerful and sexy. He got a lot of attention from his gay costars and extras whenever they shot those scenes.
Sadly Nick wasn't able to keep the outfit, but along with his failing marriage Nick entered a bit of a depression leading him to stay close to the UK while his divorce went through. Nick found himself eating more and pounds piling up. He was filing up 4XL shirts but decided to get back on track and lost 18 pounds to fit back to 3XLs. He also started to put on a bit more muscle for his role of Gobber.
But Nick is now 50 years old and his metabolism has slowed way down making regains really easy. He's also on set with quite a few interesting people.. including..
Julian Dennison who is playing Fishlegs. Known as the fat kid from Hunt for Wilderness People and Deadpool 2, he's grown into a pretty big young man. Could Nick help guide him along?
Gerard Butler, reprising his role for live action as Stoick. In the animated version Gobber and Stoick are in a same sex relationship.. maybe Gerard and Nick has some chemistry too...
Dean DeBlois, the big gay Canadian bear director. On set with his husband. Dean is a proud bear and maybe can help Nick ease into the role and find what he thinks Dean thinks the Bear Community would love to see on screen.
