Chapter #2

Lost and helpless

    by: Unknown
This was unreal, and yet it somehow was: you had been woken up by a playful - and almost all powerful - legendary who had put you through a series of silly games.

You didn't mind at first, since there was no real harm in letting said legendary in have some fun with you for a bit while also entertaining you, but things had gone south when Mew's playfulness turned into mischief and she shrunk you down to a pathetically small stature. You were barely bigger than the paw of an Eevee at this size!

And, if that wasn't enough, the mysterious move Mew had used to shrink you had also managed to turn a simple patch of grass into a thick forest, leaving you lost in the middle of it, so close and yet so far from Olivine City, in Johto.

So, basically, you were screwed, no matter how you looked at the situation.

Feeling your legs trembling, you slowly sat down on the ground, pondering your next course of action.

What you had to do was clear: you had to find Mew and get her to give you back your size. After all, she was the one telling you to find her, no? The only question now was, how could you find Mew, who took off in a random direction? It would be already much if you managed to get out of here.

You groaned to yourself, thinking that the pesky legend was probably laughing while thinking about you now. Did she think of this as some game? Because you weren't enjoying yourself.

"Ugh..." you muttered, putting a hand over your head while looking down, trying to figure a way out of this mess.

Obviously, there wasn't much you could do while like this, but you couldn't stay like this, either.

You glanced at the sky, noting that the sun was about to set. If you had to do something, you had to move before night fell.

But what...

Any other thoughts you had suddenly vanished as an idea sprang in your mind. You still had your PokeNav! You could dial someone and ask them to come to your aid!

Mentally thanking Mew for at least shrinking your belongings along with you, you picked out the tool that was going to save you and searched for someone to call, hoping that they would believe you and not just laugh at your situation or even call you crazy.

You eventually picked a number and the PokeNav began dialing, but the result was unsatisfying: voicemail.

"Darn..." you mumbled as you quickly dialed someone else, getting the same result, the same result you got for about three other times before finally giving up in frustration and putting your PokeNav back in your pocket.

Great. What now?

You were completely alone. You didn't even have a Pokemon that could help you out in this dire situation; you briefly wondered if they would have shrunken along with you if you happened to have pokeballs on you at the time it happened.

You sat there for about five more minutes, surrounded by grass and enveloped in quiet. Then, you stood up.

Whatever happened next, you decided to cross that bridge when you came to it; right now, you had to at least get out of here.

So, remembering which direction you came from, you began a run through the towering blades of grass.

Surprisingly, it didn't take you that long to get out of the 'woods'; you were actually able to find your way out in about five minutes, which was good.

Once you got out, found yourself by the road.

You immediately turned to head for Olivine City, but a thought halted you before you could take your first step: Mew had gone in the exact opposite direction.

Perhaps, you should have tried to go after her... you shook your head. The pink legendary was probably long gone by now!... But what if she wasn't?

You remembered the last and only words she said you before taking off, 'Come find me'. Perhaps, that last game she wanted to play was a more wicked version of hide and seek? Perhaps Mew was just hiding close by and you had to find her?

But if she wasn't, then you were just going to waste precious time and possibly stumble into some Pokemon or person, and it could end badly either way: you could get eaten by the former, crushed underfoot by the latter if you weren't careful enough.

The thought alone made you shudder.

You stood there by the road for a long while, trying to decide whether you should go find Mew or go to the city and get someone to help you.

In the end, after a long hesitation, you made a choice and hoped you didn't end up regretting it.
