Before beginning the plan, Rose told Grace, “Wait. If you run with Master on your back, he might fall off. I’ll carry him.”
Rose went over to Grace and gently bit the back of her unconscious trainer’s shirt. She lifted him off, and started carrying him as if he was her cub. Both she and Grace thought this was cute and amusing, but they had a job to do, so they focused on that.
Rose nodded and then ran past the front door of the Pokemon Center. The instant the automatic door opened, Grace opened her mouth and sent out a blast of freezing icy energy. The wind blew into the room, whipping up a blizzard. They heard people yell in surprise as the entire room became full of snow and mist. It was impossible to see more than a foot away. But the Glaceon was able to see through the snow better than other people or Pokemon, and Rose followed her as she dashed through the room and down the hall to the side, towards the door of the room their trainer had rented.
“Here’s the door!” Grace said. She jumped up and seized the handle between her front paws, and tried to twist it. But it didn’t move at all.
“Huh!?” she yelled. “It’s locked? I didn’t know it would be locked!”
She dropped to the floor and looked over at Rose nervously. The Leafeon was staring at the locked door with wide eyes. As they wondered what to do next, they heard footsteps approaching. They turned to see the Pokemon Center’s Nurse Joy emerge from the blizzard in the main room. She was hugging herself and shivering, and she looked angry.
“Hey!” she said when she saw the two Pokemon. She was focusing on Grace. “You! Glaceon! Did you cause that blizzard?”
Grace and Rose shied away. The nurse approached, and she seemed to become less angry as she saw the frightened Pokemon.
“Relax, I won’t hurt you,” she said. “But just tell me, why did you do that? That was a very rude prank. Is your trainer around here? I need to tell your trainer what you did.”
The nurse looked at the two Pokemon, waiting for some sort of reply. As she did, she noticed something dangling from the Leafeon’s jaws. She thought it was a doll, and she was curious about it.
Rose stepped back as she saw the nurse staring at her. She was unsure if she should reveal their trainer to the nurse. It might be a good idea, since the nurse may be able to help. But she also wasn’t sure if the nurse could be trusted. Rose and Grace loved their trainer and would never hurt him, but other people and Pokemon may not be so nice to him, so perhaps it would be best to keep him a secret.
Grace was also conflicted, so it was up to Rose to decide. What did she decide to do?
