Chapter #6

Musical meeting

    by: Unknown
You sat there in complete silence and disbelief for a little while, your brain trying to process what had just happened; Mew, one of the most powerful Pokemon ever, so rare that she was believed to be a myth, had appeared in front of you.

Despite the amount of power she supposedly possessed, her personality matched her looks: playful, cute and... mischievous?

You abruptly returned to reality.

That pesky pink fiend had shrunken you down to the size of a blade of grass and had took off, leaving you behind in a patch of said grass, near Undella Town!

And now you were stuck like this, tiny and alone and- and what was this sound?

"... Huh?" you left your thoughts, looking around for the source of the sound that had penetrated your ears.

It was faint, but you could distinctly hear it, probably because of your now more sensible hearing.

It was more than just a sound, it was like... a song.

Slowly, you stood up, momentarily putting your size-related issues aside to listen carefully.

Yes, someone was indeed singing a tune, though it was nothing you had ever heard before.

It was beautiful, harmonious, you would even dare to say... heavenly.

Without thinking, almost like hypnotized by the music, you began walking, following the song.

You wanted- no, you needed to find its source. You needed to know what was producing such beautiful music.

Before you even knew it, you had exited the patch of grass you had been left in by Mew and were traveling to find the source of the song, having forgotten about everything else.

You walked for a while; your new stature certainly didn't help shorten the distance, but it didn't matter to you.

The music's volume grew each step you took. Despite everything, you weren't completely enthralled by the music: you thought about turning back several times, but the desire to discover what was producing the music was too strong.

And, eventually, driven by that same desire of yours, you reached a tall tree, not that far from where you had begun your little trip.

The music came from here.

More specifically, you discovered looking up, from a Pokemon that was sitting on the lower branches, singing.

You watched the green-haired Pokemon singing, a black, fingerless hand resting on its chest and the other held in the air, its white legs hanging from the branch.

Even though most of your mind was focused on admiring the Pokemon, a small part of it was still working; you felt like you were in a dream when realization dawned on you and you discovered that you actually recognized this Pokemon.

Not only that, it was another legendary!

Meloetta!

You let out an audible gasp; the music stopped.

Two legendaries in the same day!? People would probably kill to be in your place!... Or maybe not.

You gazed back at Meloetta, only to discover that it was no longer singing, and was instead gazing back at you.

You stared at each other for a short amount of time. Then, you realized that you were still tiny and that a giant Pokemon with unknown intentions and a supposedly tremendous power had you in its sight.

However, the moment you thought about fleeing, you felt your legs leaving the ground, your body enveloped in a faint blue glow that rose you higher and higher in the air, until you reached the astonished face of the gigantic Meloetta, who pointed its glowing light blue eyes on you.

A long moment passed, until the green-haired legendary... spoke.

"... Are you a human?" it asked, perfectly understandable and in a feminine voice.

Somehow, you found yourself replying with another question,

"... Wait, you're a girl?" you asked, remembering this legendary was supposed to be genderless, like most other; despite its looks, it had never gotten close enough for people to determine its gender, but Meloetta was apparently a 'she'. And a pretty annoyed one, too, you judged from her face.

"What kind of question is that? Of course I'm a girl!" she protested, her voice now raised a bit.

You snapped to attention, realizing you had just angered a legendary.

"I-I-I'm sorry! It's just that people believe..." you paused. How were you supposed to explain to her that you initially believed she wasn't a 'she', nor a 'he'?

Apparently, Meloetta picked up on your line of thinking, because, in a less annoyed tone, she asked,

"Do I look like a boy?"

She certainly didn't. And she didn't sound like one, either.

Suddenly, you felt microscopic under her gaze.

Blushing furiously, you lowered your head.

"Sorry..." you meekly apologized.

The green-haired giantess contemplated you for a moment, before she let out a low sigh.

"It's alright," she accepted the apology; she moved a hand beneath you as the psychic grip she still had on you vanished, causing you to fall in the middle of her hand,
"You really are a human, huh? Why are you so tiny though?" she asked, her annoyance replaced by curiosity.

You were reminded of the situation you were in.

"O-Oh, that's... I woke up a while, and there was a Mew-"

"Mew?" Meloetta interrupted, wondering what would be Mew doing in Unova.

The tiny human on her hand nodded.

"Y-Yeah, Mew. She started playing with me and then... she did this to me." you concluded.

Meloetta blinked. Then, she spoke gently,

"That is... strange." she simply said.

She knew Mew didn't live in one location like most legendaries did, and instead preferred to travel around, but shrink random people? Mew was playful, mischievous even at times, but this seemed a bit too much.

"She told me to go find her, but I, uh..." you trailed off as you a thought ran through your mind; you began feeling excited as the hope that your problem could end as soon as it began settled in,
"... But you're a legendary too, right? Then maybe you know how to help me, don't you? Can't you make me big again?... Please?"

Meloetta hesitated.

She wasn't really sure she could pull a trick like that, but she couldn't just leave you like this, either.

Perhaps, she could do it... or, perhaps, there were other ways to help you.
