This choice: No, cause she wants you to stay with her • Go Back...Chapter #5Liza's offer by: Unknown "Wait!"
You halted in your own tracks and turned around upon hearing the young gym leader yelling.
Once she was back in your line of sight, you noted her hastily moving herself to rise to her feet before getting up, rising to her full height, which was quite impressive for a kid her age.
"Hm, yeah?" you asked while she walked closer to you, stopping when you were standing mere inches from her bare toes; you had to look up for several seconds in order to be able to look at her face.
"What is it, Liza?"
In response, Liza looked elsewhere; you noted a blush suddenly appearing on her cheeks as she began fidgeting her fingers nervously.
"He-"
"I can't let you leave!" she suddenly blurted out, before realizing what she had said, clearing her throat and resuming in a less nervous tone,
"I mean, you shouldn't leave."
"What? Why?"
Liza placed her hands behind her back and adopted a solemn expression that you best described as adorable.
"Because, trainer, it would be very dangerous for someone your size to challenge the world by yourself." Liza explained,
"I think it would be very unwise of you to do so."
She did have a point, you guessed, but that didn't change the fact that you needed to find Mew.
"Oh." you said, before offering a smile,
"I appreciate that but, y'know, I'm not on my own. I have my Pokemon with me. They're to thank if I even got in here... though now I guess it was a bit pointless."
Liza pouted.
"Don't say that!" she chided, before realizing she had shouted and placing a hand over her mouth, blushing; then, timidly, she resumed,
"Excuse me... but I still think you won't be completely safe. Even if you did find Mew, I doubt you could defeat it in battle since it's one of the mightiest legendaries... and it's also sooo cute!"
As Liza adopted dreamy eyes while thinking of Mew, you pondered her words and discovered that they made perfect sense: your Pokemon may have been strong enough to take on Liza and Tate and maybe win, but were they strong enough to take on a legendary?
Although...
"She didn't mention that." you pointed out,
"She told me to go find her, not fight her."
Liza finally stopped daydreaming about finding a Mew herself and finally turned back to you.
"Oh, it's a gir... wait. Hehehe, sorry," the young giantess giggled, realizing she had lost the main track of her thoughts; she focused back on you and once more adopted a serious expression,
"Maybe it's like you say, trainer, but there's still no telling if Mew is going to give you back your size even if you manage to find her." Liza pointed out.
You looked at her for a few seconds, wondering just what she was trying to say.
Then, with a shrug, you said,
"Perhaps. But what other choice do I have?"
Liza looked away.
"Oh, you know, you could always..." she mumbled the last part so lowly that not even you could hear her, not that there was anybody else to listen.
"Um... what was that?"
Liza's face flushed bright red once more.
"I said..." she said, closing her eyes,
"That maybe you could stay... with me."
Silence fell between you and the giantess; you kept your gaze glued to her while she once again looked away, blushing.
Eventually, you broke the silence.
"... Why?" you asked,
"Why would you want me to stay you?"
In response, Liza finally turned to you.
"Well, you know, I wish to, um, assist you," she kindly replied, bending to place her hand palm-up in front of you; getting the hint, you climbed on as she rose up, lifting her palm as well.
"You know, I can't help you with your size, at least for now, but I can take care of you!"
Liza was sure she had concealed it well, but she was actually thrilled by the idea of taking care of a small person.
"Um... that's very kind of you, but... you're a gym leader, no?" you pointed out. She nodded,
"If I stayed, I'd be stuck in this city, and I need to find Mew. I don't think you would be able to leave this gym, and therefore I wouldn't be able to go and seek for Mew..."
Liza bit her lip - you had a solid point.
"... We'll think of something," she replied after a long hesitation. Then, she shot a smile that was intended to be reassuring,
"I could always try to make my Pokemon to learn some Psychic move that might help you grow... or I could even learn it myself... or maybe Tate's psychic powers and mine could be strong enough to actually grow you. I'm sure we'll come up with something, eventually..."
After that, Liza fell silent and you fell into thought.
The offer you were given was admittedly pretty good and surely the best you had since it was also the sole one; on one hand, the gym leader was right, staying would be much safer than just traveling aimlessly until you found Mew.
On the other hand, you had Pokemon, and were fairly sure that, with them, your chances of survival were as good as anyone's... as long as your Banette didn't come up with something mischievous that implied with your new size... yeah, you guessed Banette was was going to sit in her Pokeball for a while.
Shaking your head, you focused back on Liza's offer and pondered it for a few more minutes.
"Have you made your choice, then?" the giantess spoke.
You looked back at her. indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
