This choice: Yes, and he brought a friend • Go Back...Chapter #5Yes, and he brought a friend by: jimbob   As Gavin walked into the room Devynn was excited, feeling it was finally Christmas. It took everything she had to not shrink him where he stood. As she started to move forward and greet him he was followed by another person, a young girl around Gavin's age with long blonde hair wearing fairly fashionable clothing. “Hey everyone this is Beth, my girlfriend” he proudly announced as they made their way in. Devynn stopped in her tracks, A girlfriend?, but Gavin belonged to her, not some random girl that nobody knows. Stewing in her own mind she snapped out as Gavin stood before her. “And this is Devynn, my little cousin who everyone loves the most, and this is Beth my girlfriend” Gavin said, introducing the two girls to one another. “Yup I'm the best“ grinned Devynn, flashing her braces to the teens as she thought about claiming her present. “Nice to meet you Devynn, Merry Christmas” Beth replied, her sweet smile and kind demeanor not swaying Devynn's decision for later.
Sometime later in the day Devynn approached the two teens sitting on the coach. “Hey Gavin come see this cool present I got for Christmas” she eagerly said. Gavin hesitated as he stood up and followed the young girl to her room. With a spring in her step Devynn entered her room and began rummaging through a drawer. Finding what she wanted she turn just as the door closed to find Gavin and Beth standing in the room with her. “I didn't ask you to come, go away” Devynn spat at Beth as she hid what was in her hand behind her back. “O..oh OK I'm sorry” Beth quietly replied as she began to leave, “NO, Beth you can stay” Gavin replied as he looked her dead in the eyes, his, full of fear”. Devynn pouted slightly. “Are you sure Gavin, surely you know what I can do” She said as she stepped closer to the pair. Gavin reached back for Beth's hand only to feel the wall, glancing back she was gone. He looked down to see a small figure only inches tall at his feet and before he could cry out he joined her.
Devynn's grin grew from ear to ear as down below her Christmas present to herself huddled against his tiny girlfriend who was slumped on the ground crying. She stomped her pink Adidas down on either side of them then dropped to the floor with a thud, the tinies still holding onto each other as she put her feet together encircling them, her pink leggings like giant walls. From behind her back she pulled out a small elf costume and dropped it before the couple. “Remember last year Gavin when you and my sister through it was funny to make me wear that silly elf costume and kept saying how short I was, well now who is short, Mr elf? So put on your costume and dance for me, other wise...” she boomed down as she tapped her sneakers together. Gavin looked at the costume for a second then looked up at his towering cousin he...  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
