Goku and Bulma meet, as happens in the story normally, however, Bulma finds Goku to be a bit too free spirited in the toileting department. It's not that he isn't trained, as he clearly can hold it, but it's more the fact that Goku will just do his business wherever and whenever, having no real concept of using a toilet specifically, or having the control to hold it until finding one.
After the second day of waking up to Goku peeing in the corner, or finding a 'gift' right outside the front door of her capsule home, Bulma decided it was time to take matters into her own hands and deal with this, and while she wasn't looking forwards to diapers of all things, at least she'd know there wouldn't be any issues with his messiness going where it shouldn't.
