Thanks to a gene mutation discovered in a 12 year old Belgian girl, kids have developed the ability to alter their size. It spread from Europe and outwards at an alarming pace, but for reasons still unknown to science, the ability seems to disappear almost overnight when the kids turn 13.
Scientists have suggested that the hormone imbalances caused by puberty are to blame, however there is clear evidence to the contrary, as there are girls as young as 8 or 9 undergoing puberty, yet still able to change their size.
So it remains a mystery. Whose story are we following?
