If there's anything to learn about the stuff this place is churning out, the Testing Room is bound to have it!
Goal in mind, Claire crept towards the Testing Room doors, glancing around as she moved. She hadn't a clue what would make the Night Shift so creepy, and she didn't really want to find out.
Oh, damn...
Cracking one of the heavy double doors open an inch, Claire couldn't help but gasp as she got a look at the Testing Room. The word 'Room', however, was a bit of an understatement. From where she was, she couldn't see the ceiling above her, not the wall opposite her. All she could make out was a metal catwalk just in front of her.
This place is massive! Claire pushed her way into the room, the door slamming shut behind her. I don't even know where to start! Uh... I guess right is as good a place as any...
Moving to her right, Claire tip-toed across the catwalk, pausing occasionally to glance over the railing. Various machines and tables decorated with papers and candies stored in airtight containers met her gaze, each one more enticing than the last. Eventually, she came across a staircase that she wasted no time in bouncing down.
First table! Let's see what you're hiding...
The first table, unfortunately, wasn't all that interesting. A neat plaque in the corner of the table told her that the candy on the table was nothing more than simple chocolate. Even so, she took a moment to open one of the containers and pluck out a few pieces of said chocolate.
"Looks normal, feels normal... Tastes normal?" Claire mumbled to herself, rolling a bit between her fingers. With a shrug, she plopped it into her mouth. Almost immediately, it melted atop her tongue, spreading its rich taste throughout her mouth. With a happy moan, she devoured the rest of her stolen pieces, licking her fingers clean once done. "Never mind, tastes absolutely delicious! A bit more wouldn't... No, hold it, Claire! You can't afford to get stopped at the first table!"
And so, with surprising will, she tore herself away from the chocolate and began to wander through the massive room. Each table she came across had a plaque stamped to it, indicating the name of the candy stored atop it. Some were self-explanatory, like the 'Toffee Chewers', while others were slightly more obscure, such as the 'Bootilicious Bites' and the 'Plump Suckers'.
"So many candies!" Claire exclaimed as she finally came to the end of the first row. She must've passed at least fifteen tables, and there were easily another five or six rows! "Well, I guess I've got a good but of searching before I get any answers..."
