Alexis giggled and helped herself to another sip of her Pink Glacier "Well you are the only one here dear, and you did say that your date had flaked on you. so it's not like you had any other plans.
That was true. Even if he'd been lying about meeting someone he had nothing left to do except get drunk. These ladies looked like they were planning on doing that anyway, and this way he would at least get drunk with company.
Mmmm still. Look at him. He was a sumpy middle aged man in his best suit that only made him look slightly dumpy opposed to very....look he knew he heard them talk about having college age kids, but you wouldn't know that for looking at them. These were women that lived on their looks and judging from the size of the rock on each of their fingers they were living very well through it. He'd stick outlike a sore thum, and that was if their husbands didn't find out he was hanging around them and somehow make his life more miserable than it already was.
He felt a rumbling in his pocket.
"Excuse me for a second. That might be them." He got up and talked three tables over.
"Hurry back honey." The third one said holding up her vodka-tonic.

"I'm not so sure about this. I just, I...there so...and I'm...."

But if you let your fear rule you, your just going to sit in that empty house for the rest of your life doing anything. Just embrace it. Go along with it. You might find you enjoy and and become a newer, better you that has everything you want in life."
"....That sounds like a line from your book."
"Does it help?"
"......" He took a breath. Honestly? It did. "Go along with it, huh?"
"You won't know what your missing if you never try Felix."
"...Alright. Thanks Ms. Wong."
"Call me Lucy. And good luck."
He put his phone back in his pocket and took another bracing breath.
He turned back to the girls "You know what? I 'will' join you girls today."
"Ohhhh girls are we? I like this one already." The second one barked out a laugh. "Stick with us...."
"Felix."
"Felicity...Felicia....Fiona?." She chuckled "Felix. Stick with us and you'll have the time of your life. One of us, right?"
The ladies raised their own glasses. The man wished he'd had one himself himself before sitting down "Sooooo...what are you ladies doing first."
"Well since your joining us Feli..." She shortened his name "On our days out we like to start with drinks, then our next stop is...
