Chapter #4

Scared into the yard

    by: Inverse Author IconMail Icon
Julia was hyperventilating to herself, still trying to comprehend her sudden diminished stature. If her mental state wasn't already bad enough, things were about to get much worse for her. Before she could think about what she could do next, she heard a slight ruffling coming from right behind her. She was already way too terrified, but knew it'd just make things worse to ignore it, so turned around, to be greeted by an ant slowly making its way onto the towel to her right.

Even though the ant was still a decent distance away relative to her, still being able to tell that an ant, which she already considered disgusting at normal size, was now as big as her if not bigger, was enough to cause her to fall onto her butt, hysterically screaming and kicking her bare feet wildly, in hopes of maybe scaring it away.

Her hopes seemed to flounder, as she turned her tearful filled eyes behind her, to the left of the towel, to find another ant also making its way onto it. "Oh no no no no no, this can't be happening!" Julia exclaimed to herself, shaking her head while on her knees, as she imagined more and more ants starting to surround her, before deciding to do God knows what to her minuscule body.

No longer thinking straight, with only pure survival on her mind, Julia bolted as fast as she ever did, to get as far away from the ants as possible. Running along the rough blue fibres of the towel, passing by her gigantic bra, and running under her sunglasses, she jumped off the far top end of the towel, landing on the rough dirt ground below, before continuing her chase.

Julia had no idea where she was going, but she didn't care. Her eyes were half-open, still screaming, as she ran around and in-between various long-winded grass strands, not even paying attention to her environment. She also didn't realize that, through both her inherent exhilaration, her new centimetre size, and being completely bare, she was able to run at speeds faster than she, or most people in the world, ever could (even if obviously the distance travelled would pale in comparison).

After several minutes of running, she spotted a long sharp stalk, which hosted a bright red flower above it, and decided to hide behind it to finally take a rest. Catching her breath and feeling safe from the ants (even though in actuality, the ants never even attempted to give chase or follow), Julia finally realized the biggest mistake she made. In her panic, she had abandoned probably the safest place she could be to get help, and now is somewhere completely lost and alone in her backyard, with no clear way to get back home, her body still completely bare and exposed to the world, and now open for the rest of the vicious, dangerous bugs to make her a target.

Realizing how screwed she really was now, Julia curled up into a ball under the flower and let out a long cry. As the wind rustled far up in the distance, and sounds of creatures got louder and quieter, Julia let herself get out all her worries and grievances, thinking how she didn't want to die like this, and helped to re-gain some courage, so she could decide what she should do next.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. She climbs the flower to see where she is

*Noteb*
2. She's chased off by more bugs

*Noteb*
3. She puts on some "clothes" and explores

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
