Jenny brought you into the kitchen to get dished up while Janice started a load of laundry (with your tiny phone mixed in with it!)
For the most part dinner went well. Janice set up a tiny plate for you that contained much smaller pieces of the steak and mashed potatoes she prepared.
“It’s a pleasure to have you with us Sammy!” Janice said sweetly to you. “We haven’t had a man around the house in a long time!”
“Why is that? ... If you don’t mind my asking.” you said. Trying not to come off awkward.
“Well my husband, their father, left a year ago for another woman.” Janice sadly explained.
“He was a douchebag anyways!” Jasmine bluntly chimed in, not even looking up from her plate.
“Jasmine!” Janice snapped. “Your father had his flaws but he still loves you very much!”
“Whatever...” Jasmine said harshly.
“My boyfriend dumped me recently too...” Jenny said. So it’s been a rough few weeks for me.
As uncomfortable as these girls made you feel, you still felt sorry for them.
“Wow, I’m sorry guys I didn’t mean to bring any of this up!” You quickly realized you were destroying the mood.
“Oh it’s okay!” Jenny reassured. “I actually have my eye on someone else now!” She then winked at you suggestively. Your uneasiness returned once again, hoping she wasn’t talking about you. You were almost 5 years younger than her, but Jenny didn’t seem to care one bit!
“Oh! I almost forgot!” Janice announced. “Have you guys packed for Lake Crestview yet?”
“I’m all packed.” Jasmine said.
“Me too!” Jenny said. “Ohh... wait. What about Sam here?”
“Why he can come with of course! Just bring your books and notes so he can still tutor you!”
“Wait...what’s going on?” You nervously asked.
“We have a condo up at Lake Crestview! We head there every now and then to get away for a few days!” Jenny explained. “It will be fun! I promise! We have a pool, and the beach is only a few minutes away!”
“And having a handsome boy like yourself join us will be a treat!” Janice said, winking at you from across the table.
“Umm...well...I” You stuttered, trying to think of an excuse to get out of this. As fun as it sounded, Crestview was pretty far away, and you wanted to avoid any distractions for Jenny. You wanted to be done with her tutoring as soon as possible, especially since her and her mom seem to have the hots for you!
“We have to get up early tomorrow! So we should probably all get to bed soon!” Janice declared.
Jenny happily hauled you to her room before you could protest. She went to the bathroom to brush her teeth and whatnot, leaving you alone on her bed. You figured this would be the best chance to call Stacy and have her pick you up in a couple hours while they’re sleeping.
You reached into your pant pocket for your phone, your heart skipped a beat upon not feeling it. You patted yourself all over and looked around for it.
Suddenly you remembered your time in the laundry basket and how it must have accidentally fallen into the mountain of clothing. You realized your phone is ruined as it got put in the washer earlier. It then dawned on you that there was no escape until Jenny no longer needed your help.
You were all on your own, trapped with the Lark household...
Your thoughts were interrupted as someone entered the room...
