The villain, having changed his outfit to regal, bejeweled robes, strode confidently into the city. Honestly, it was actually a rather nice place. Even the slums were relatively decent. He strode through on his 'horse,' a wooden mechanical puppet, being intercepted by a guard.
"My lord," the guard said worriedly as he looked over the horse puppet. "...Can I help you?"
"Yes, actually!" the villain said, thinking up a fake name on the spot. "I am the great wizard FanfiFetis! I have heard that the hand of the lovely Princess Jasmine is up for grabs, and I wish to throw my hat into the proverbial ring, as it were!"
The guard looked uneasy. "...I will send the message along. Please come to the front gates of the palace proper when you are ready."
The villain nodded. "Excellent!" he said. "I wish to explore this fine city some more anyway. Perhaps same your fine wares... Like these apples! I didn't know they grew this far out!" He tossed the vendor some gold, and speared a couple with his sword.
The vendor smiled happily. "I received seeds from a foreign land through a relative, and raise the trees in a small grove that only I know about!" he said. "They are quite fresh, quite crisp."
The villain picked one of the bright green apples off of his sword and crunched into it, happily savoring the crisp tartness. "Mmm! That's just dandy that is!" he said, grinning. "I just may come back."
The vendor discreetly bit into the gold, testing it, and smiled at the result. "Please do! You are welcome anytime."
The villain grinned knowingly at him. "My money is, at least! Ha!" he laughed, hopping off of his horse puppet and leading it around. As the guard, worriedly, went off to talk with his superiors, the villain began wandering around, wondering who he'd encounter before actually meeting Jasmine. If he could get the annoyingly heroic Aladdin out of the way without trouble, that'd be great...
