Why wait

Why should you wait for the kid to come back? The thought of the corn snake is intimidating but you still have some advantages, namely your brain and your knowledge of corn snakes.

So first you climb to the top of the dollhouse so you can see better. You see the corn snake. It is sleeping in it's terrarium. You know that the snake could escape if it wanted to but the snake seems to be perfectly content basking under it's heat lamp. As long as nothing disturbs it, it probably won't come after you.

You make your way silently and as far from the snake as you can. You keep your eye on the snake as you move along the wall. You can't always see the snake but every time you do get a glimpse, the snake hasn't moved. You make it all the way to the door that the boy left open. You see a pet door and wonder if there might be another pet. Even if there is, the pet door is your best way outside and back to the gun.
