"Grant, I need you on stage in three," Grant heard in his earpiece. He was used to quick costume changes as a Broadway actor but this was ridiculous. It was the dress rehearsal the night before a big opening, so he had to hit all the queues as if it was live. Grant threw off the shirt he was wearing, exposing his lean, hairy torso. He was by no means a bodybuilder, but Broadway often required an athletic physique especially if dancing was involved. He put on the shirt that was laid out for him for the next scene, checked himself in the mirror, smiled and ran back to the stage.
Grant hurried to the stage as the curtains were about to re-open. This was his first big break, he thought. He'd usually been on the makeup team, in the company, or an understudy. It wasn't a big part but he was thrilled to be in the production and finally get some recognition for his hard work. He'd been in New York City for a few years now and it hadn't exactly been easy to make it on Broadway.
