Byleth had just joined the academy and wanted to get to know the students before choosing.
After meeting with Edelgard and students for breakfast, and others for lunch, he had invited Claud of the Golden Deer as well as Dimitri of the Blue Lions for dinner. Byleth also invited Linhardt and Caspar of the Black Eagles, and Felix, Ashe, and Sylvain of the Blue Lions. He had also invited Cyril as well.
The boys of the academy ate in enjoyment of their new professor, each in hope of him joining their respective house. What they did not know is that Byleth had put a spell on the food. The food that had been devoured by the 8 future students. The spell was designed to make them grow in both size and strength. Byleth had handpicked the 8 students to grow. Literally grow. However, it came time to tell Lady Reah of his decision on which house he’d be choosing.
The Black Eagles to grow Caspar and Linhardt,
The Blue Lions to grow Demitri, Ashe, Felix, Sylvain, and Cyril,
Or The Golden Deer to grow Claud and Cyril?
Luckily, he could convince the others, aside from Demitri and Claud, to join his classes regardless of the house, and all of the 8 boys, and only the 8 of them, would grow regardless of which house he would choose.
