Chapter #9

Itty Bitty Borrower Buddy

    by: Frost Author IconMail Icon
Dorothea fought every urge to giggle at the slight tickles she felt as Bernadetta climbed onto the bed. Sure enough, the tiny tugs she anticipated came, and all she had to do was catch the tiny runaway off guard. She just had to bide her time for a moment, and then Bernie would be back in safe hands.

Meanwhile, Bernadetta had let her guard down completely as she practically pounced on the cake waiting for her. She couldn't believe that Dorothea hadn't even taken a bite from it at all! It was almost too good to be true.

She cast that thought aside, going to town on the massive slice of cake. She was in heaven, her hunger problem solved by a cake gifted to her by the goddess. She buried her face into the spongy wall, not even noticing the rising shadow behind her or the squeak of bed as Dorothea got up.

"Gotcha!"

Dorothea punced down on the prey caught in her trap, scooping the tiny Bernie in her hands and holding her close. "Thank the Goddess you're okay!"

"L-let me go!" Bernadetta squealed, fighting agenst the giantess' fingers. She tried to slip out but to no vail as even her classmates fingers were enough to completely overpower her. Once she knew she was caught, it didn't take long for her to transition into begging. "I'm sorry. I'msorry i'msorryi'msorry, please don't hurt me!"

Dorothea pulled her away. "Hurt you? You're my friend. I could never hurt you, Bernie."

Bernie looked up at the giant. "You won't?"

"Of course not," she reassured. "Come on, I'm taking you to the Professor. She'll be relieved to know you're safe."

"No!" Bernadetta yelped, resuming her struggles. "You can't! She's gonna be so mad that she'll kill me and put me on display!"

Dorothea's eyebrows furrowed. "Why would she do that? She's been worried sick ever since you ran away.

"She is?"

"She didn't even want to go to bed," Dorothea answered, recalling the subtle frown on her teacher's face. "I had to reassure her that the cake plan would work."

"P-plan?" Bernadetta babbled, the cogs in her head turning. "You mean... Oh, stupid, stupid Bernie! How could you fall for something so obvious, you idiot?"

"Hey!" Dorothea snapped, earning a frightened yelp from the tiny girl. "Don't talk about yourself that way. You're not stupid."

It was too late; Bernie had already curled up into a ball. Dorothea sighed, knowing there was some deep rooted issues at work. She would just have to find some other way to console the anxious borrower.

"The professor found a book in your room," Dorothea said, changing the subject. "I used to read it over and over again when I was little... well, not as little as you are right now."

Bernadetta remained quiet.

"I sometimes imagined having a little borrower friend help me get through the day when I was on the streets," she said, her voice wistful as she gently rubbed the shrunken girl's back with her thumb. "If you're okay with it, I'd want you to be my little borrower buddy. I won't even tell the professor about you."

Bernie perked up. "You—you won't?"

Dorothea nodded. "You can hide with me. You'll be my itty bitty roommate. I'll even bring you food so you don't have to risk going out and getting caught."

The more Bernie heard, the more the deal (like the cake) sounded too good to believe. "Wh-what do you get out of it?"

Dorothea thought about what a tiny person could do for her. “All I ask is that you help me out with some little things, like helping me do my makeup and nails.

"Are you sure? That doesn't seem like much."

"If you insist on paying me back..." An idea went though her mind, and she fought the urge to grin. She leaned forward, getting into Bernie’s personal space as she put on a husky voice. “You could also keep me company at night when I’m lonely.”

Bernadetta squealed at the implication, her face turning an impossible shade of red.

I was right. It was adorable.

“I’m just teasing,” Dorothea reassured with a slight giggle. “In all seriousness, I'd rather see you safe and happy, Bernie. If living like this is what you want, then who's to say it's invalid? What do you say?"

Bernie nervously eyed the corner of the room. If I make a break for it now... She then eyed the piece of cake. But if I try running now, then she'll keep looking for me. Finally, she glanced up at Dorothea. I think I can trust her.

"O-Okay, I'll stay with you," Bernadetta answered. If she were completely honest, one big motivating factor was the fact that she didn't really have a safe place to sleep.

"Yay!" Dorothea, used her free hand to reach over and grab the cake on her nightstand. "How about we celebrate with cake?"

Bernadetta nodded excitedly before jumping off her friend's hand and resuming her make-out session with the giant slice of cake. Dorothea simply watched, waiting for the purple haired girl to tucker herself out before she went in for some herself.

Sure enough, Bernadetta collapsed backwards in a sugar induced shock. Her entire body was coated in bits of cake and frosting. Even her hair seemed to match Dorothea's in shade. She let out a little groan as she rubbed her stomach, having had her fill and then some.

After Dorothea had her share of the cake, she went back and nestled into bed. She plucked the near comatose Bernie and brought her down to her chest, slowly pushing her into her cleavage.

By the time the borrower had come to, she was halfway buried by her new roommates breasts. "W-wait, what are you doing!?"

"I thought you needed somewhere safe and warm to stay the night," the songstress answered back with a slight lilt. "It's comfy, isn't it?"

As much as Bernie didn't want to admit it, her accommodations were surprisingly soft. the light pressure from all sides made it feel like she was getting a big hug. It also helped that Dorothea's natural body heat was just as welcoming. A light rhythm sounded deep below, which she quickly pinpointed as her bedmate's heartbeat. It was steady, lulling even.

"It's not so..." Bernadetta yawned, finally letting out the exhaustion she had built up through the day. She turned on her side, resting her head on one of the soft walls.

"Sleep well, Bernie," Dorothea said, rubbing her tiny friend's head and picking out the chocolate from her hair.

The next morning...
