“A little picky there,” said the voice to my right. I turned my head and saw a lone female figure that I hadn’t noticed sitting down beside me.
“She smoked,” I said.
“Socially,” she said. “She might have quit if needed, especially at this stage in life.
“You were looking pretty closely,” I said as Jake brought the beers. I nodded my thanks, I knew the beers were going on my card.
“I’m curious about dating apps,” she said. “Been on a couple, but it seems to just be people looking for hookups.”
“Some are like that, but I think others mean well.”
“Do you think it is true that it just makes it easier for people who look hot?”
I thought about that for a second, she had a point, much like in a bar, the first thing you notice is looks, but then I knew I would try to find out more. “I think looks help, but in the end, its the same as meeting in a bar, it takes more to hold attention, it takes a person you want to talk to.”
She smiled, nodded, then reached out her hand. “I can go with that, I’m Erin.” I took a second to look Erin over. She was wearing black slacks and green tank top. Her blonde hair was down past her shoulders and wavy, I normally didn’t like blondes, but she seemed nice enough, in other areas as well. “Alex,” I said, taking her hand and shaking it softly. “Listen, I need to take this beer over to my friend, but you’re welcome to join us."
