Aliph was awakened by the the alarm clock next to his bed that rung furiously. He silence it by throwing it against a wall. He yawned and stretch himself, smacking his lips and blinking his eyes clear of sleep.
Another day, another set of dangers to avoid, Aliph thought. He did not feel much like getting out of bed. He could afford to sleep in a bit.
He closed his eyes again and dozed off....
This in itself would have been a big warning had Aliph been more awake. The demon stallion never slept in. He always got his desired hours to rest and recover but never indulged beyond normal.
Which itself was unusual enough to have his current charge come poking around. Regina snuck into his room curious to see if he really was asleep still. Normally she would have left it at that but then her eyes fell on the ruby pendent in the box. It just looked so nice... Surely her uncle wouldn't mind if she tried it on for a little while.
