This choice: They make it to the site. • Go Back...Chapter #7The tomboy and the nerd. by: Unknown "Aww man! Can we use a flatbed next time? My back is killing me." Ryuko asked as she popped her back and neck. The ride to her old home wasn't a pleasant one, the cramped interior leaving no room for her to adjust from her original position. Despite Ira's best attempts the dirt road hard far too many holes and uneven spots to drive on. Leaving Ryuko to be jostled around roughly.
"I can remove it later after I finish helping Inumuta's guys set up." Ira replied as he set down a large crate with ease. "If we need it that is."
"Given how long it took for'em to set all this up, you're not wrong."
True to her word, dozens of Satsuki's people had set up monitoring systems to begin looking for a way to reverse Ryuko's growth. In the large clearing behind the mansion a massive tent was erected for her to use with dozens of smaller tents and trailers along the sides for the researchers.
"If you think this is impressive you should see Inumuta right now." Looking down at her ankle, Ruuko's face flushed slightly at the teasing smile Satsuki sent her. "Apparently, from the second I told him what was happening, he's been working at triple the pace he normally does. Though I suppose it's only natural since it's you that's affected by the Life fibers."
Of all the events that had happened over the past year, perhaps the most shocking of all was Ryuko and Inumuta began dating. The two had gotten together after spending a few days preparing Satsuki's birthday party, during which time they discovered they had quite a lot in common! Soon after it was over with, they began hanging out with increasing frequency and, eventually, dating.
Worried about her boyfriends wellbeing, Ryuko looked towards the main tent. "So I'm guessin' you want me to keep an eye on him so he doesn't overwork himself?"
She nodded at her. "It would be most appreciated. It's still a bit early though, so let him work for a few hours and if he doesn't show any signs of stopping on his own then do what you can to make him rest."
It was rare, but on occasions of great importance, Inumuta could get a tunnel vision and forgo most basic nessessites such as proper sleep and food, though would still shower to keep himself awake. So it came as little surprise that he was putting in more effort than anyone else with Ryuko's condition.
A sly smirk crossed her lips as she let put a chuckle. "Don't worry, I got a good idea of how to get him to stop for a while." With that said, she began walking towards the tent leaving Satsuki by herself.
Letting out a sigh, Satsuki shook her head playfully at her sister before heading off to help finish setting up. "Better let everyone know not to enter that tent for a while."

Inside the darkness of the main tent, the only illumination came from the four screens Inumuta was using, frantically searching through old and new data on Life Fibers and Ryuko's biology. While more of a technological genius, he had learnt much about biology in order to combine technology with biology so he could be best prepared to fight Ragyō when the time came. Now he only hoped this knowledge could help Ryuko return to normal.
"Arghh! This doesn't make any sense!" Another failed cure possibility flashed across his monitors eliciting a cry of frustration, before he began running a new test. So focused on his work, Inumuta failed to notice the tent opening and someone coming up behind him.
"What doesn't?" Came the familiar voice of Ryuko only a tad bit louder.
"AHHHH!" Ryuko watched with a snort as her boyfriend shot out of his chair and up into the air, nearly touching the roof! Extending her arms, she caught him on his way back down, holding him under his arms. "Hey."
Slight disheveled, Inumuta stared at Ryuko as she continued to smile and hold him. "R-Ryuko! Are you ok! How are you feeling and could you put me down?"
Snorting at his request, she gently placed him down before sitting crossed legged in front of him. "Thank you. Now, how are you feeling?"
"I'm fine! Just really friggin tall. So what were you work'n on?
A sigh left his mouth as he turned back to his computer. "A way to reverse your growth. All attempts have failed however. Though I will attribute this to being very early into the research process." Slumping his shoulders midway through his explanation, Inumuta turned his head as a heavy weight fell on his back and smiled at the sight of Ryuko gently patting him with a smile.
"Don't worry about it. I'm sure you and the other will figure it out soon." She reassured him as best she could. Luckily, it seemed to work!
Nodding slowly with a widening smile, Inumuta turned fully towards her. "Right, right. Just a matter of time is all. But for now I suppose I should show you what's available so you won't be bored sitting around while we work." Walking past her, he motioned to her to follow.
"Thank you sis!" Letting out a whoop and throwing a fist into the air, Ryuko stood up and began following him to a large curtain on the opposite side of the entrance. Pulling back the curtain, Ryuko's jaw dropped slightly at the sight. "Woah. She really doesn't skip on comfort does she?"
Chuckling at her reaction, Inumuta entered the living space with a wide sweeping gesture. "Nothing but the best for her little sis!"
Making sure Ryuko wouldn't be bored out of her mind and uncomfortable, Satsuki had a large couch and bed made for her new size and a projector hanging from the ceiling facing a blank wall.
"The remote is on the couch and the projector can stream from any country in the world. We don't know how long it'll take to get a cure ready so we made this in the meantime so you won't get bored, hopefully." Turning around, he looked at Ryuko as she knelt down closer to him. "If there's anything you need don't hesitate to ask."
Chuckling lightly, Ryuko leaned in close and gave Inumuta a quick kiss before pulling back. "Don't sweat it, I'll be fine! I got a few shows I've been wanting to check out so now's a prefect chance!" Standing back up, she walked over towards the couch and sat down as Inumuta headed back out to continue his researcher. Flicking the projector on and selecting a show, she began to relax. Enjoying the sense of normalcy since this whole situation began.

"Ugghh! This is so boring! Gotta be somethin' else I can do." Ryuko groaned into her pillow, bored as all hell.
Hours had gone by since she started binging her shows and withing the first few episodes boredom had began to set in. Sitting and binging wasn't something that the extroverted tomboy could do for long! In an effort to fight it off she had done some exercises, but that was only somewhat successful and had left her hot and sweaty. That left her racking her brain for ideas.
The TV was out of the question and exercise would only go so far. That just left interacting with someone and the nearest person was Inumuta, who was still working. Sitting up cross-legged, Ryuko began to bob her foot up and down in thought.
One of her favorite activities with Inumuta was teasing him when they were alone, especially with her feet! The idea of messing with him at her new size was becoming quite tempting but she knew she had to let him work.
