So Patty leaves Ellie in charge and Ellie comes by first thing the next morning and looks at the LONG list of complicated instructions.... "UGH. Dogs are a LOT of work...." she sighs. She is really NOT a dog person but here she was...
She looks at the grey bulldog, with his droopy face and short body and shakes her head.
She looks at the list and realizes any and all plans for this week would have to revolve around taking care of this droopy-faced dog, giving him a portion of food and then another and then walking in between and after and then more food and on and on it goes....
"Hmmmm...." she was trying to think of an idea.... she noticed he had a doggy door to go outside if he wanted.... so then she thought...
If I just leave out a whole bunch of food for him, he would be all fed and Patty would never even know!! He can miss a few walks.... like who would even care? It's just a week...
Now, Ellie wasn't the brightest crayon in the box and she had never had a dog in her life so she had no idea how much or how little they ate, but she was thinking she had to leave A LOT out because for a whole week the dog needed to be happy and if the dog was happy, her friend would be happy and Ellie could just do whatever she wanted, so she found 4 giant bags of kibble in the garage and she assumed that was supposed to be Rascal's food for the week and so she opened all 4 30lb bags and tilted them slightly so Rascal can get to them all without trouble.
"Ok, Rascal.. don't eat this all at once or you won't have food for the week!" She said to the dog. She had absolutely no idea she left out about 4 months worth of food out for the greedy pooch....
"And if it's too much for you, you do not have to eat it all, ok? I bet you're a smart doggy, right?" She patted Rascal on the head and went on her way not even paying any thought to what might happen next....
To be fair, I don't think ANYONE could have anticipated what actually happened over the week....
