Regardless of what species you are, whether or not you are prey or a predator, starting anew at another new school is always a challenge. And the argument could be made that no one in Zinnia City knew this fact more than Patrick. He had been in and out of different schools throughout most of his childhood, not because he was a troubled delinquent, but because his family had to move frequently due to their jobs. However, he was semi-confident in himself that his move to the large and well-funded Zinnia College would be the last time he would have to go through the experience.
It was definitely heart wrenching for him to say goodbye to his family, but the idea of the University Lifestyle and the thought of being on his own was far too enticing for someone his age to resist. It was slightly concerning that he did not even have a proper idea of what he wanted to major in, but these fears were dashed as he remembered his old and, quite frankly, uneventful life. He wanted a change of pace, meet some new people and perhaps make some friends that would stick around. Today was to be the first day of his assigned classes to start, and he was certainly passionate for them.
However, just because he was enthusiastic did not mean he was fearless. Patrick repeated to his mental self over and over again as he walked from his room in the hallway of the boy’s dormitory to just be confident. But it had no effect. Why would he be so scared? It had to do with his species, which stood out amidst the overloaded and fast breeding rodents and other mammals that flooded the hallways with timid prey trying to look as small as possible.
