Harpies get a bad rap. It's probably because they are professional harbingers of doom. Seriously, that's their job. They mete out justice to those mortals whose hubris is an affront to Olympus. They hound traitors and oath breakers.
They also work as process servers on the side. All the top law firms use them.
In their professional garbs, they have the wings, legs and talons of vultures, and the torsos of diseased, decaying women. Away from work, they appear as very lovely women with the wings of golden eagles. Or without wings if they choose. The hottie you were eyeing doing crunches at the gym could have been an off duty harpy. Haile herself looks like a winged version of a young Halle Berry. And she has a very lovely soprano singing voice, thank you very much.
If you go out to dinner with them, they will invariably order a salad, then eat off your plate as well, especially if you order shrimp or dessert. They only eat carrion if they can bill you for it.
