Chapter #4

Alice, a woman with a taste for larger (beast)men

Alice stared up in awe at Tim, shocked to see it was every bit as real as she had hoped it would be. A living, breathing minotaur. Part of her wanted to cry out in shock, but she'd not spent days chatting back and forth with this guy just to lose her cool now. She eyed him up and down laboriously, almost salivating over what she say. 12 feet of muscle covered in a chocolate brown short fur. Alice liked her boyfriends on the taller side and this was more than she could have ever hoped for. She stammered out an awkward greeting.

"H... Hey. Wow... You look..."

Tim flinched, feeling a wave of regret set in. It was probably too much to ask for some human girl to be able to feign interest in him. Maybe it was better if this didn't go any further. But before the minotaur could doubt himself further, she took a step forward and finished her sentence.

"You look incredible. The stories I've heard don't paint your image well." She gushed before composing herself a little. The woman felt somewhat nervous. Firstly because compared to him she felt very overdressed. She wore a dainty silk dress with some stylish flats whereas he didn't get further than a ragged loincloth. Though he'd told her that his options were limited when locked in a giant maze. Still, it left little to the imagination and allowed him to showcase every inch of his muscular chest.

"Oh... thank you. Please, come in." The bull-man replied with a smile, reaching out a large hand. Alice laid her arm in his palm and for a moment he froze. He gently grabbed her arm and simply held it, overcome with emotion. This was the first physical human contact he'd experienced in 2000 years. She played along for a while, giving the minotaur a strange look.

"Uhm... could I have my arm back?" She asked jokingly. Tim realized how odd that must've been and quickly lets go. He tries his best to shrug off the revelation he'd just experienced and tries to move on.

"Sorry... It's just been so very long. Please, follow me. And stay close. Many humans have lost their lives in this maze." He motions down a hallway and begins walking. Alice follows closely behind, trying to hide the fact that she's staring at his ass. She had a hard time keeping her mind out of the gutter with such beauty in front of her. To break the ice she tries to joke with him.

"Why is that? Some scary minotaur killed them?"

"What? No! Because you could spend a hundred years wandering these passages and still not see every room. I rarely find what's left as anything more than a decayed skeleton." He sounded hurt and Alice struggled to grasp why. Wasn't this all just sort of part and parcel for monsters?

"Sorry, didn't mean to assume."

"It's alright. It's hard to get to know what's really going on with me when most people would die trying to reach me. Every few years some foolhardy explorer comes in and they always get lost. I guess there's a silver lining though. The most recent casualty had a smartphone, so I was finally able to free myself from complete isolation. No idea how it still had any charge in the battery, but I guess it's for the same reason there's light in here when we're underground."

Alice nodded, still trying to hide her oggling his body. She hadn't even given a moment's thought to how there was light in here. "Yeah.. I guess. So I suppose that whole eating people thing is a load of bullshit too? No offense."

"Hah, none taken. And yes, I've never eaten any person. Though since everyone who set foot in here so far has died, I can see why some might come to that conclusion. So how about you? What possessed you to try dating monsters?"

The woman shuffled nervously, blushing a little. "I've always loved being with someone bigger than me. Being the tiny spoon, having a big man tower over me and protect me. I know it probably sounds really lame, but... I like someone who can just wrap me up in a hug and make all my worries go away." Tim smiled and nodded, but he had a followup question.

"Why me then? I'm sure there's some proper mountain giants on Monstr. As far as big goes, I'm on the shorter end of the monsters out there."

"Well... your picture on Monstr looked really cute and to be fair I'm afraid those really big guys would accidentally hurt me. You seem careful enough not to let that happen." She said, her whole face bright red. Alice wasn't a star in this romantic crap and she felt more embarrassed than ever. She was so busy overthinking every second that she hadn't noticed Tim was no longer moving. She nearly walked right up against his ass, stopping herself before things got weird.

"I've set up a little sleeping quarter down this hall, close to the entrance. It's not much, but it's as close to home as I can offer." The bull-man said nervously. Alice blinked and nodded. She realized she had already lost count on the number of halls they passed. Or have they not gone past a single one yet? The maze was playing tricks on her, she was sure of it. Thankfully the best solution to her problem was staying nice and close to her handsome date. They soon arrive at a small room. Small by Tim's standards at least. In the corner was an improvised bedroll and most of the room was decorated with scraps of cloth and old weapons and armor, no doubt leftovers from others that went in to explore this maze.
