Guild Tactics

“Sebastian, you’ve got yourself a deal!” Willis smiled as he downed the last of his delicious Pokepuff. By now, you were all filled with your meals, your plates lying empty before you.

“Ah, wonderful! I’m sure you boys are more than up for the task. Now, as a show of good faith, please allow me to pay for your meals,” Sebastian offered, with that alluring little smile of his again, apparently smug in your agreement.

“By all means!” The charmeleon smiled, hopping off of his bar stool with his belly rounded and sloshing, letting out a resounding belch. You blushed at just how crude your friend was, giving the ninetales an apologetic look as you hop off your own chair.

“My scouts have pinpointed their location in a little grove northeast of here. I can mark it on your map, if you wish.” Sebastian explained. Sure enough, you held up your map for him, and he marked an area with a little pen he held with his teeth. “There should be around 6 of the outlaws… one of them a roserade. Bring that one too me intact for an extra reward.”

There seemed to be some extra venom in his voice while he spoke of the roserade, which made you a little bit uncomfortable. But Willis thought nothing of it. “Alright, cool! We’ll handle it from here, Sebastian, no worries! C’mon, Oliver! We gotta get that statue before it’s too late!” With that, he trots off, his belly sloshing all the while… and with a sigh, you follow begrudgingly afterwards.

You hold the map while he takes point, trotting through the forest together as you navigate based on the many beautiful, natural landmarks scattered around. Eventually, your voice lowers to a whisper. “Alright. We should be getting close now,” you explain, and he stops in his tracks. “Let’s try to be sneaky about this, alright? See what we’re getting into.”

“Right!” He nods, a determined look on his face. As you approached the camp, you both crouched down to avoid making sound… and when you drew closer still, you started to crawl along the ground to avoid being seen. Eventually, a bandit encampment came into view exactly where the ninetales had marked.

You take the binoculars out of your bag and give the camp a lookover from your perch in the bushes. “Two nidoran, a gloom, a skiploom, a roselia, and that roserade he mentioned…” You count out the outlaws, almost holding your breath.

“Heh! Easy peasy!” He smiled. Since most of them are grass types, he figures this must be a piece of cake! But you have your reservations. You desperately want to make sure this goes well. You don’t want to end up gurgling in a stomach on your first mission!

“Not so fast. We need to come up with a plan…” You tap your chin. “Hmm… that roserade looks like their leader. He’s definitely the toughest. Should we ambush him and see if we can take him out first? Or should we take out his lackies first, so we don’t have to worry about getting attacked from the rear while we fight him?”

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
1. Attack the roserade first!

2. Attack the other outlaws first!

*Noteb* indicates the next chapter needs to be written.
