Paul takes you into a brightly lit room walled with mirrors. Cardio machines line the wall to your left and guided workout machines form three lines in the middle that have pictures and tracks to guide bars and weights. Any worry about form is quickly dispelled as you see a walkthrough for each machine clearly labeled. Along the right wall is a mirror are free weights that don’t go higher than 50 pounds.
You see a mix of overweight and underweight people either sweating on a stair stepper, elliptical or treadmill. You aren’t very inspired by who is in the room and almost wish you could skip this initial starter room and start hitting heavy weights with the big boys. As if reading your mind, Paul speaks up.
“There are supplements and we could give you special training if you wanted to bulk up faster.”
“Really? That sounds great.”
“If you want to be a gym rat we can get you there in no time. I can start training you today if you want.”
