The TV channels were easy to work out. Just punch in the station number and it'd appear. It was the other buttons on the remote that were more obscure. Deciding the best way to understand how they worked was to experiment with them you started to push them carefully, but randomly, trying to see if you could notice what each one did.
You'd ended up on a classic toon channel. It was an old episode of 'Scooby Doo: Where are you?'
The floating, 'spooky' writing had just vanished, and the camera was in the Mystery machine. Unsure whether the controls would even work with such an old show you waited until the show was further along.
Stabbing the BS button, you wondered if you'd notice the effect. The technician who set it up, had said something about that being short for 'Body Swap', though quite how that was meant to work was unknown.
However, as you released the button. It was fair to say, you couldn't ignore the effects! You were suddenly Velma! Well, a real-world version. Your body transformed to a woman, and the clothes familiar too. It was mortifying to discover the flat colours seemed to be translated as latex!?!
Your vision seemed to settle as you got used to the thick lenses on the glasses. Taking them off, even briefly, the world vanished into indistinct blurry shapes and outlines.
"Jinkies..." Harsher curse words clearly beyond you in this guise. It wasn't what you meant to say, but you seemed to have Velma's speech imposed on you.
