This choice: In the studio, the Squid Sisters promote the delicious new candy bar • Go Back... "...And that wraps up the stage rotation announcement for the day!" Callie declared to the camera, smiling proudly as though she hadn't done this a thousand times before.
"But before we sign off, we've got a special new sponsor product to share with you, Inkopolis!" Marie chimed in as the screen between them changed to show a logo of a round, happy looking whale rubbing his tummy with the words "White Whale Candy" written in blue, bubbly font beneath him. A pair of partially unwrapped chocolate bars were slid in from offscreen toward the Squid Sisters, who happily took them.
"That's right, Marie! This broadcast is brought to you in part by White Whale Candy Bars! A candy so delicious, you'll never want to stop eating!"
The two idols took simultaneous bites of their candy bars, and were instantly mesmerized by the taste. Marie couldn't quite identify what ingredients were in the candy bar, there was a nutty texture and slightly nougat-y flavor, but with something else in there that she couldn't place. It was incredibly sweet, almost overwhelmingly so, but it was maybe the best thing Marie had ever had. A quick glance over at Callie's face suggested that she felt similarly, her pupils dilated and a small amount of drool escaping the corner of her mouth.
"It's really good! I'd eat this every day!" Marie said, regaining her composure. It was a good thing that she really believed the statement she'd just read off of the teleprompter, since she knew she was going to be eating them every day for a while.
"Uh... yeah! They're so tasty I might have another one right now!" Callie shook herself back to reality. "But that's all the time we have today! So until next time..."
"Stay Fresh!" The idols posed as they shouted their iconic catchphrase. Marie breathed a sigh of relief, and immediately finished the candy bar in her hands in two bites. She really didn't want too make a pig of herself on camera, but it was a struggle to rein in her impulse to chow down after that first, scrumptious taste. Callie did the same, getting a little smear of chocolate on her chin from her haste.
"Girls, you did fantastic as always!" The Inkopolis News director, a crab named Pince Certain, scuttled up to the duo, claws outstretched in joy. "You really sold that sponsorship, too. Looked like you were in genuine bliss when you took that first bite!"
"...Yeah, we really outdid ourselves acting there..." Callie laughed nervously. "Um... by the way... are we supposed to get some of those to take home, or...?" A little bit more drool nearly escaped Callie's lips as she thought about eating more of the delicious candy.
"Oh, yes! Thank you for reminding me! Yes, we've got a whole box of these bad boys for you!" The director gestured backstage, where an entire crate labeled "White Whale - Squid Sisters" was resting on a pallet. Marie gulped. Hopefully she would be able to keep a grip on her self-control.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
