The strange symbols had started to appear just a few days ago. Beth had been having nightmares. Waking in a cold sweat only to remember brief flashes of her horrors. Demons of all shapes and sizes violated her in her dreams. At first she thought it was just her mind telling her to pray more so she did.
She was going to tell the head nun of her troubles until one morning she awoke to a burning on her belly. Strange runes at appeared just below her belly button. The symbols were a dark black and incomprehensible to the young women. She kept these secret fearing what the church might do if they found out. As each night passed more horrible creatures flashed in her dreams. Centuars, minotaurs, demons with wings and horns. All manor of foul abominations assaulted her in her sleeping mind. Each new creature added yet another foul rune to her belly. One morning as she awoke to find a final symbol burning brightly in the center of the rest on her belly she felt a dread fill her.
