Alyssa couldn't sleep, though.
She was exhausted, but not tired;
she'd been lying down all day by now.
Someone else couldn't sleep, either.
Unknown to Alyssa she wasn’t the
only shipwreck survivor on the
strange undiscovered islands.
Granted this 2nd survivor was on a
different boat Alyssa hadn’t seen
while passed out.
An adult looking college student in a
white lab coat walked up to her spot
looking more modern and civilized than
her kinda sorta captors.
He wore glasses, had brown hair and
that was about all Alyssa could discern.
“Ah so I see you survived after I
left you on the beach and I see no
adverse side effects either! Good good”
Alyssa was confused.
“What do you mean left me on the
beach and what do you mean side effects?
Who are you?”
“Ah right I forgot you were passed out
after both our ships got wrecked and
you’re probably wondering why
everything is small to you myself
included!
First introductions. My name is
Professor Richard LeGrande and
I now know you to be Alyssa thanks
to the natives here!
In spite of looking 19 I’m actually 39
however that fact is unimportant.
First I figure it’s only right to tell you
that I saved you in 3 ways and one
of those ways is your size”
Alyssa was even more curious now.
The professor took out a strange
dented and bent looking gun.
“You see I’m a researcher and
Inventor and this was 1 of the meager
things I could save from my own ship
going down like yours.
When I spotted you unconscious clinging
to a piece of wreckage about to go
under water I didn’t want you to drown
so I used this device on you.
You were my 1st human trial.
It’s a size modification device.
1st I shrank you doll size so I
could get you to shore.
Once ashore I started restoring your
size which trickier than expected.
I knew initially you were quite short
for your age but when I used the
device on you I fear genetics were at
play.
You shrank surprisingly easy but
regrowing you was hard.
Your body seemed to resist growing.”
Alyssa looked annoyed!
Obviously he had struck a nerve!
Alyssa of course knew she was cursed
with shortness.
He quickly did damage control
“But in spite of the resistance I made a
decision since the device still needed
testing. I couldn’t leave a poor cute
innocent young girl like you alone and
defenseless with no hope of escape from a
strange foreign land.
So I didn’t just stop at your original size
I used every ounce of power in the device
to make you into an honest to goodness
giantess that way you could at least
fend for yourself, protect yourself and
have hope”
Alyssa was shocked.
“Wait so you mean I really am big?”
“Well yea I mean…
He was cutoff as she picked him up and
kissed him on the cheek or rather the
entire left side of his head.
“Thank you mister!
I’ve always wanted to be bigger but
not this big. You can fix me right?”
“Actually I’m afraid not.
Aside from being out of juice the device
and significantly damaged the technology
and materials I need even to do
remedial bare bones improvised repairs
don’t seem to exist around here.
In other words Alyssa I am afraid to
say there’s no telling how long you
might stay the worlds 1st giantess and
essentially the most powerful person
alive. I just beg you not to abuse it”
Alyssa was silent then another thought
came.
“Wait you said you saved me in 3
Ways but I only counted 2”
“Ah yes well you see it seems
unbelievable but apparently this place
we landed is on the boarder of 2
undiscovered countries equivalent to
3rd world countries in a way and stuck
in a time warp of sorts.
Neither country is particularly developed
however the one we are in called
Lilliput is the more primitive of the 2
countries. The other Bel..Bel..
Well I can’t pronounce it but I’m
sure you’ll learn about it.
The other country nearby has some
Technology but it’s still hundreds of
years behind what you and I are used to.
Anyways while you were passed out I
did some scouting and met 2 different
army platoons from each side of these
2 conflicting nations”
Alyssa was trying to follow.
The professor could tell this part of
the discussion was getting complicated
so he cut to the chase.
“Anyways me be a scientist and inventor
both sides ironically seem to view me
as some sort of god.
They don’t yet know I’m playing both sides
to keep us both alive however they both
have become extremely accommodating.
Initially the king of this region we are in
now wanted you roasted alive however I
managed to talk them out of it figuring
you might appreciate not being
barbecued and hoping the 2 of us might
manage some form of cooperative alliance”
There was a silence then Alyssa spoke.
“Well I guess I should thank you for
saving me then and then..and then..
Seeing as…my..my..”
“There there Alyssa truly I am sorry
about your loss of your family.
I overheard your story and I regret I
couldn’t have saved them too”
“Th-thank you”
“So what do you say young lady?
Partners?”
“Huh? Why would you wanna be partners
with me though?”
“Well for starters the size and power I
granted you, 2nd as the only 2
survivors from the modern and advanced
outside world I figured we both have
value to one another.
Also you kind of remind me of the little
sister I lost 24 years in a terrible accident
and I figure if I’ve helped you this far I
may as well keep on helping you”
“Well then partners I guess”
said Alyssa holding out her pinky
awkwardly.
The professor shook it.
“I guess this is where our Gulliver
adventure begins or rather some sort
of David and Goliath scenario where
the 2 work together.
By the way later on we should probably
examine you and test out your new
body”
Alyssa had to admit she had curiosities
now that she learned she was an honest
to goodness giant to the world now
and not just mysteriously in a land of
tiny things.
Just then someone else was stirring
having trouble sleeping
