"There we go," Sucy declared as she set the slice of pizza down on the desk in her dorm. "Akko should be back any minute and I know she won't be able to resist!"
The young witch had concocted a magic potion that was supposed to enhance the user's special abilities. Her preferred test subject however, had become fed up with her attempts to experiment on her. Sucy had tried to slip some of her potion into Akko's own food, but the girl had become too cautious to leave her an easy opportunity. This time however, it would only be Akko's fault for eating something that wasn't hers. After sprinkling some of her potion onto the pizza slice, Sucy quickly made her way out of the room she shared with Akko and Lotte, knowing full well Akko's class had just ended and she should be returning shortly. As she stepped out into the hallway, she heard someone call her name from behind. She turned around to see Diana approaching. "Have you seen Akko?" the popular witch asked her. "I let her borrow my boots but I need them back immediately or I'm going to be late!"
Sucy looked down to see Diana was in fact barefoot. "She should be back soon," Sucy answered. "Why don't you just wait here for a minute?"
"I suppose I will if I must," Diana replied, "but if she isn't and I end up having to go to class barefoot, I may end up strangling her later!"
"I certainly wouldn't fault you for it," Sucy responded in her usual deadpan tone.
Diana then entered the room and took a seat on Akko's bed, groaning to herself. After they'd been able to avert a global catastrophe by stopping a possessed missile, she and Akko had been on much better terms than before. Diana figured it would be no big deal to let Akko borrow her boots for a day while her own were being repaired, but she should've known better. She wasn't sure how much trouble she'd be in if she showed up to class barefoot as opposed to out-of-uniform shoes, but now she didn't even have enough time to go back and grab a different pair of footwear. At least her midnight blue-painted toenails looked good.
Diana knew she only had about 30 more seconds until she had to head to class, and she was about to give up. She'd skipped breakfast today, and she wasn't sure whose slice of pizza that was sitting on the desk. Deciding she didn't care, she grabbed it as she turned to leave and took a large bite. Just as she'd finished eating all of it, she heard someone else enter the room.
"Akko's just down the hall," Sucy declared upon returning.
"Finally! And she'd better have my boots!" Diana responded. "Wait a minute... Why do I suddenly feel so strange?" she asked as the room around her seemed to be contracting.
Sucy realized the pizza slice she'd left on the desk was no longer there. She hadn't planned on using Diana as her test subject, but in the end it didn't make much of a difference. Either way she'd find out what effects her new formula were going to have.
