This choice: Carrie awakens and gets out of there, but keeps hearing that same voice... • Go Back... Carrie woke up a good half an hour after she had passed out. Groggily, she opened her eyes and tried to focus on something, but the room was too dark. She instinctively went to grab for her phone to check the time, believing, for a moment, that she was at home in bed and this had all been a bad dream, but as she stretched out, her hand only hit against a damp, wooden floorboard.
"Oh shit."
Suddenly, it all came flooding back to her. The face. That ghostly face. She leapt to her feet and scrambled for the hatch, flinging it open and scrambling up the steps so hastily that she slipped on the last one and went crashing onto the floor again.
"Shit, shit, shit!" Carrie repeated, groaning as she had to get to her feet once again to shut the hatch behind her. When it was finally closed and she was out of the basement, she breathed a sigh of immense relief. She had no idea exactly what had happened down there, but it had absolutely terrified her. She had left her phone down there, so decided to head back and find the others.
As she hurried along, casting nervous glances over her shoulder in case something was following her, she suddenly froze in her tracks.
"Eat."
"Wh-what?!" Carrie spun around, wondering where that horrible, chilling voice had come from.
"Eaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat..."
Carrie started running. She had no idea where that voice was coming from, but she knew she had to get away. "Leave me alone!" She shouted over her shoulder, though she wasn't sure who she was talking to. She rounded the corner into the grand hall, sweating and panting heavily.
"Eat."
Carrie was suddenly hit with a churning in her stomach. It rumbled noisily, as though she hadn't eaten for days. She clutched at her middle and groaned in discomfort. "I...should eat," she said aloud, wondering towards the Kitchen... indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
