This choice: Toadstool notices you and picks you up • Go Back...Chapter #6Toadstool notices you and picks you up by: Unknown You had no idea how or why this unfortunate turn of events happened but you were utterly terrified nonetheless and pinched yourself several times to wake yourself up as this had to be nothing but a dream like the events of the actual Super Mario Bros. 2 game which the Super Mario cartoon show was partially based off of but you no doubt were indeed wide awake.
Then you turned back to the dangers at hand a gigantic animated princess coming right towards you as you were so incredibly tiny it was impossible to see past the hem of her massive pink dress but you watched enough episodes of the show to know how incredibly beautiful Princess Toadstool was okay maybe she wasn't as cute as her video game counterpart but with her long bushy red hair rather than blonde(the animators based her on the original NES Sprite from the first game who also sported red hair),blue or was it green big eyes,she also lacked her counterpart's traditional white gloves,instead she was bare handed and even her golden crown had no jewels or rubies on it but she was still incredibly pretty you would have stood there with your jaw dropped at the sight of her if you weren't so scared beyond belief so you did the only thing you could think of and just curled into a tight ball waiting for the worst just as her huge pink high heel came down right on top of you.
"Oh are you alright? I'm very sorry I didn't see you!" A female voice cried out forcing you to open your eyes to see you weren't crushed to a bloody pulp under her heel instead she was holding you in her right hand looking at you with the utter most concern
"Eh...." Was all you could say at the mere sight at her massive billboard face was making you lose the feeling in your feet and you almost toppled off her palm
"I'm sorry I didn't see you at first,I had a very busy day for you see this is my first real time back in my castle since the Mario Bros. helped vanish King Koopa from the Mushroom Kingdom." She explained "But what am I going on for-who are you and how did you get that way?" She asked curiously
"I....I....I'm not sure princess one minute I was watching TV,the next here I am in this strange mushroom world." You blurted out the princess' Pac-Man like blue eyes widened in shock
"Oh yo...you must be from the Brooklyn Kingdom like Mario and Luigi if you mentioned watching television as there's certainly no televisions here in the Mushroom World!"
"Brooklyn? No I'm not from New York,I'm from Chicago,IL!" You explained
"Chicago? What's that?" She asked sitting down on her royal throne as you saw for the first time how big her castle really was( the actual mushroom castle was only seen in one episode on the original show 'Princess Do You Take This Koopa' one) and there were mushroom guards all around but you didn't see the princess' guardian and royal mushroom retainer Toad anywhere.
"It's another place in what you might call the Real World where eh....Mario and Luigi come from." You said quickly not wanting to inform her of the truth that her,and the Marios etc really didn't exist at all
"Oh! Well you said you have no idea how you got that size? That's horrible! Are you sure you didn't touch a poisonous mushroom or something?" She asked
"No I'm certain. I arrived here at this tiny size princess." You automatically knew what she was talking about as you played the Japanese Super Mario Bros. 2 a few times to know what the poisonous mushrooms did
"Oh that's terrible! You certainly need help- oh! I should have introduced myself eariler I'm Princess Toadstool,ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom can you tell me your name please?" She asked kindly once more you were unable to control your balance she was so pretty! And appeared much younger than her video game counterpart probably in her late teens 17 or 18 at the most instead of her early twenties.
"Yes it's Willy." You replied "Anyway you said you can help me out?" You asked
"I'll do my best to try! Hmmmmmmm there's been a few instances where we encountered shrunken people including that time Mario and Luigi were shrunk but I never encountered anything quite like this......there must be someway I can help you out Willy." Princess Toadstool seemed highly concerned for you thinking hard "Oh wait-Toad,Toad!!" She cried out suddenly
"Yeah you called Your Royal Highness?" The small squat mushroom retainer who accompanied her and the Marios on their numerous adventures in the show with his red spotted mushroom cap and blue pants came running into the throne room urgently
"Yes Toad I need your help with something. This is Willy he comes from the Real World like Mario and Luigi and he needs our help! He's been mysterious shrunk to this size and I want to find a way to get him back to normal." The princess explained
"Wow! He's smaller than a coin! But okay I think I know just what might help out:the ancient book of magic hidden in the catacombs of this very castle that might have something to get this little dude back to his regular size. Although are you sure he can be trustworthy princess? What if he's a spy for King Koopa?" Toad whispered
"Don't be silly Toad look at his clothes! Why would he lie about telling me all this? I believe him. And besides King Koopa's been varnished from the Mushroom Kingdom,and even he wouldn't do a horrible thing to this poor boy,go and try and find that book pronto!" The princess ordered
"Okay I'm off! I'll be back in a Goomba stomp!" The mushroom retainer said as he sped off then the princess stood up to her full height looking at you concernedly
"Don't worry Willy Toad'll be back soon enough and we'll find a way to get you to your normal size."
"You...you actually believe me?" You choked out amazed
"Of course I do! Why would you be working for King Koopa? You seem much too smart to be in league with that 'repulsive reptile' and very cute I should say!" She brought you to her massive beautiful face smiling sunnily at you
"Eh thank you?" You muttered drily noticing the look she was giving you,that certain flirting look that most cartoon female characters from the 80s got....all that was missing was a bunch of floating hearts fluttering around her head oh wait there were in fact some popping up near her crown.
"Oh great!" You moaned
"What's wrong?" The teenaged princess asked alarmed
"Well isn't it oblivious Princess Toadstool? You fallen in love with me!" You couldn't resist rolling your eyes
"What? What do you mean by that? We just met!" She said a little shocked and annoyed
"Really? Then why are you holding me so tenderly like you don't want to let me go? And why are there hearts floating over your head?" You smirk
"What? I-I don't see any hearts!" The Mushroom Princess started looking around in alarm
"It's just a figure of speech! Anyway tell me when the Marios were here did you show any sign of affective or interest in either of them?"
"Well.....I....that is....hmmmmmmmm....there was something but it-it was more....wait! Why am I telling you any of this?" She got defensive real quick,her kindly face morphing into a serious frown and her blue eyes were narrowed in a annoyed,angry brow
"I just want to know princess did you show any kind of romantic interest in Mario or Luigi?" You asked
"Well no I can't really say I have. I mean I did actually kiss them a few times but that was due to them helping me to save my kingdom from King Koopa but otherwise......" Her voice trailed off
"So in other words you never really developed any interest in either plumber. And the moment you find me and rescue me you instantly fall head over heels with me." You said slyly grinning a bit
"I....I....." The princess muttered turning away as she began blushing bright red "Well to tell you the truth Willy yes as a matter of fact the moment I saw you something just came over me and that feeling I always wanted to express for the Marios came out! You see I sort of fell for the Mario Bros when they first arrived but with Mario constantly hungry for pasta and Luigi's timid,scared personality....I guess it just went away after a while but you......" And she brought you even closer to her massive face and you could make out her angelic features.
"Ohhh! You're right Willy I have fallen madly in love with you! From the moment I first picked you up and introduced myself I-I wanted you to be with me forever even if we don't find a way to return you to normal please promise you'll at least stay with me! Please?" The princess was practically pleading with you to say you love her back what is your response?   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
