Eventually, Weavile let out a long sigh, her humid breath washing over you and making you shudder, despite the coldness of the claws wrapped around you.
“Sorry, dude,” she said. “I dunno if this is gonna work.”
Your heart sank. “W-what? What do you mean?”
“I mean I can’t help you. It’s really cool to find a tiny human that can understand me, but... taking care of you is just gonna be too much work. I can barely take care of myself—life in this forest can be rough, especially with troublemakers like those Sneasel brats running around. And I have no idea how to turn you back to normal size, so I’d be stuck having to take care of you and protect you for a long time. I just can’t do that.”
“W-Weavile! I need your help! Please...”
The wild Pokemon bit her lip and shook her head. “Sorry. I can’t. You should explore around... maybe you’ll find someone else who can help you. Also, there’s a river over to the left—you could stay there for now, cuz it has water and lots of berry bushes. You can live there until you figure out what to do.”
Weavile was trying to be supportive and helpful, but your heart was still sinking. How could she abandon you like this, when you desperately needed her? As you struggled to say anything, the wild Pokemon crouched and released you from her grip. As soon as your feet touched the ground, you ran towards her, but she moved back, shaking her head.
“Sorry,” she said again, sadly. “Good luck out there.”
“Weavile!” you yelled.
Weavile turned and ran, ignoring your cries. You chased after her, yelling her name, but she never came back. You finally stopped and sat down, shivering with fear. Now what? You were all alone again, and any random wild Pokemon could come over and eat you. What could you do?
