Of all the houses that were close by, this one happened to be the most eye-catching.
At a first glance it didn't differ too much from other buildings around here: a cube with a spiky roof, to put it a simply as possible. Oh, but what a roof it was, stylized to look like a miniature, golden pyramid. It looked so real, as if it was shrunk and nabbed straight outta Egypt.
The house itself was built out of a gray brick, which looked much blander when contrasted with the roof. Its owner must've thought the same, though, as each brick was decorated with colorful hieroglyphs. Sadly, you couldn't tell if there was any meaning hidden in those, or if they were just randomly painted on.
In your youth you used to be a real sucker for anything Ancient Egypt related, even dreaming of becoming at some point an Egyptologist. Those fantasies are well past you now, but the interest in that place lingered in the back of your mind to this very day. It seemed that whoever owned that house was also a big of it. Perhaps meeting them could spark that old interest anew.
You approached your neighbor's doors, which seemed to be the most ordinary-looking piece of the house. Just a regular, wooden door with an Egyptian ankh engraved around its peephole. Without thinking much about it, you gently knocked at the door... Only to immediately regret it.
All of a sudden, your head started hurting. Badly. The worlds started spinning, your vision got blurry. Unable to keep yourself standing, you fell at the intriguing house's doorsteps, only managing to get a glimpse of its owner's feet before finally falling unconscious.
