It had been your standard day at Wilkos: nothing really exciting happened at Wilko during the early afternoon hours, basically no-one apart from the occasional delivery guy came to visit the store. Emma sighed wearily as she looked down onto the shop floor from her overlooking office with her head in her hands. Only about a handful of customers were in the store right now, a family with 2 middle aged parents and their college-aged daughter, a dingy looking old man and a female couple who were probably picking up some tampons or something.
Sometimes she wondered why she came in on days like these- nothing of note took place and all she had to do was sit around and make sure everyone was working. Really living the life, Em! she thought to herself mockingly.

She was wearing her usual getup, a short-sleeved white blouse with a pair of boot-cut, black, women's slacks and a pair of black, 2-inch heeled shoes.
Emma turned her back to what was going on downstairs and started up her clunky desktop computer. When she was bored she normally just flicked on the news and that is what she decided to do today. She watched on as a pretty Hispanic woman came onto the screen, standing as a crowd of people gathered together behind her.

There are reports of a freak meteor shower about to pass over our heads, undetected by scientists and astronomers across the globe. As you can see, the storm is coming closer and while it’s predicted the meteors will not actually crash land, scientists recommend viewers to stay inside for there are rumours that the storm is emitting significant amounts of cosmic energy. Now, moving to our corr-“
Emma frowned as the audio cut off and her screen went black. “Weird,” she mumbled, “Must be a temporary power shortage.” She looked out the window, watching as the glowing neon orange and green rocks tumbled through the skies, getting closer and closer with every passing second.
