This choice: Liam clears his mind, goes to work • Go Back...Chapter #5Liam clears his mind, goes to work by: Saracen1187 "I have to get to work, otherwise I'll probably lose my fucking job." Liam grumbled at Marcus, as he picked up the change around him. He hated at Wilko, but it was better than being unemployed and having no money coming in... barely. He tried shrugging off what had just happened to him and he hopped on the trolley, for Marcus to take him as far as Wilko.
"So what did you mean when you said the lady with the man's face?" Marcus asked, with a perplexed expression plastered on his face. "Sounds like your pretty pissed to me, and I don't think you should show up to work drunk."
Liam shook his head. "Forget it, I was delirious," he grumbled, "and it doesn't matter if I'm drunk or sober, in a pissy mood or not, I still get into trouble at work because none of the fuckers like me." he added.
"But you mentioned a lady man, a lady with a man's face." Marcus pressed, curious.
Liam looked at Marcus, then tried explaining what he had just experienced. "I was grabbed by a woman... I think, except... she had an old dude's face and adeep voice, and she was really strong. She picked me up with ease."
"Ever stop to think it was just an old man dressed up in women's clothes just to fuck with you?" Marcus laughed a little.
"Not that with that body, no way! Curves in all the right places, the hair, her hands, legs... all hot as fuck! But that face..." Liam sighed as he thought back to the grinning face of the 'lady man' who had assaulted him.
"Anyway, maybe it's your work colleagues that are the ones at fault." Marcus shrugged, sounding indifferent as he abruptly changed the subject. He was pretty sure Liam was either mistaken about who he had seen... or he hadn't seen anyone and was just shitfaced.
"It is them! ALL of them! They're all to blame! They just like having someone to hate, and that someone is me." Liam growled angrily.
"Maybe find another job?" Marcus asked, as the trolley rumbled along the street.
"I've tried, no one is hiring right now, so I'm stuck at Wilko, fucking place." Liam answered, not bothered about any other passengers who could probably hear him swearing and venting. "It would be so bad if the managers were neutral like they're supposed to be, or if my supervisor wasn't such a bitch to me, or if those I worked with were't complete asswipes all the time." he continued to rage.
"You need to calm down Liam, before you get to work." Marcus advised.
Liam nodded, exhaling deeply. "I know, I just... I like to get it out of my system." Suddenly he heard a gruff whisper in his head again, 'Swap'... Liam closed his eyes and gripped the back of Marcus's seat, actually puncturing his fingers through the leather. There was a throbbing in his head worse than any headache, but it was only now and then. And it did seem to be subsiding eventually, getting less in intensity.
"You sure you're alright?" Marcus inquired, seeming concerned.
Liam opened his eyes again, and sighed. "I don't know. Maybe I hit my head."
"I can still take you to the hospital if you want, get yourself checked out?" Marcus mumbled.
Liam gave it some thought, then decided to...
