Derek could feel the new memories, his new personality, pressing in on him, and it was difficult not to immediately embrace them. But then he looked at Bonnie, the smiling ditzy bimbo who had once been Jayden. Did he want to throw away who he was? Memories of Jessica's life, of her and Bonnie throwing insults at geeks and watching with satisfaction as football players physically bullied them, ran through Derek's mind, and he made his choice. "Sorry, Bonnie, I totally appreciate this, but, like, I dunno if I wanna be a bimbo."
The statement made Bonnie's face scrunch up in confusion. "Like, what? How can you not be thanking me! I made you, like, a super hottie!'
Her words dug into the Jessica part of Derek's mind, and he could hear what she wanted to say. You're totally right! Duh! Being Jessica is, like, a kagillion times better than being some loser! But Derek held onto the fact that he was that loser, that this body and the mind that came with it weren't his. "Jayden, I think we should try to change back, with the coin and junk." For a second, Derek thought he'd gotten through to his friend, but his stomach fell as Bonnie smiled and giggled, with her own plans for moving forward.
