As Johnny initiated the device, he could feel a tingling sensation in his head. He closed his eyes and focused, trying to clear his mind and see what came to him. At first, there was nothing but silence. But then, suddenly, he could hear Denise's thoughts as if they were his own.
"This is amazing," Johnny thought, his eyes fluttering open in surprise. "I can hear Aunt Denise's thoughts as if they were my own. This is incredible."
Denise, meanwhile, was having a similar experience. She could feel Johnny's thoughts mixing with her own, and it was a strange but exhilarating sensation.
"I can't believe it," Denise thought. "I can hear Johnny's thoughts as if they were my own. This is amazing."
The two of them sat there for a moment, grinning at each other as they explored the depths of each other's minds. It was a truly unique and wonderful experience.
But then, suddenly, there was a loud crackling sound and the device short-circuited. Johnny and Denise were jolted out of their trance, and they looked at each other in shock as they realized what had happened.
"What the hell was that?" Johnny exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise.
"I don't know," Denise replied, looking equally shocked. "But I have a feeling this isn't going to be the last time something like this happens."
