"What on earth is this," Denise said as she poked her head into the shack.
Johnny turned around, screwdriver in hand, to see his aunt stepping into his little lab. "Hey, Aunt Denise," he said happily as ever as he turned back to his work. "What brings you back here?"
"Just wanted to pay a visit to my favorite nephew. What are we working on today?" she asked, peering inquisitively at the pair of chairs with a tangle of wires between them.
"This? This is my pièce de résistance! I've been working on this for months, but I think it's almost ready," Johnny said, putting down the tools. He turned to face his aunt, who was still prodding parts of his new invention. "This is my newest invention. It allows two people to read each others' minds! And you showed up just in time. Want to give it a whirl?"
The grin on Denise's face said yes, as she was always the more adventurous between his mother and her. "Sure," she said as she sat her rotund bottom into the chair.
Johnny made a few simple adjustments to the gear as he strapped the helmet to Denise. Sitting next to her, he put on his own helmet. "Okay, it's pretty simple, just clear your mind and see what comes to you."
