You talked to various colleagues during the break, but now it's time to get back to your table. The next course will be served shortly. Most people are back at their tables, some are still walking around or visiting the toilet.
Some more wine is served and waiters are walking around, preparing the tables for the next course.
Your table companion Linda isn't back yet, so you have a look around and see that none of the women have returned. They must all still be chatting and doing their make-up in the bathroom together. It's always the same with them, if they don't hurry back they may miss the next course.
Then the waiters enter the room to serve the next course. Because of the number of guests not all tables are served simultaneously, but luckily your table is the first to be served. Linda's chair is still empty, hopefully the food won't be cold before she returns.
