Chapter #3

Megan's Brain Transplant

    by: Clockworange Author IconMail Icon
“Ahh, splendid!” said Professor Von Strasser. “They're finally beginning to come around. Wake up my lovely little test subjects. Wake up and let us see if my experiments have been successful.”

Megan was the first to awaken. She blinked her eyes a few times and realized she was now strapped to a table in a brightly lit, modern looking laboratory.

Professor Von Strasser was immediately hovering above her with interest.

“They all said I was mad!” he laughed. “But now I have successfully proven I can transplant the human brain, moving it from one subject to another.”

Megan reacted with horror: “What?!? What have you done to me... m-m-my brain... m-m-my body... I'm...”

“Your consciousness is in the body of someone else,” said Professor Von Strasser. “And his brain is now in your body.”

“His?!?” shrieked Megan. That's when she realized her voice was much deeper and lower now. And her body felt considerably heavier, more muscular, and hairier!

“What have you done to me?” she yelled.

Megan tried to get up from the table but discovered she was secured tightly by leather straps across her arms, legs, and chest.

“You are in the body of a man named Jack Scarborough,” replied Professor Von Strasser. His voice was calm and clinical in contrast to Megan's urgent, frantic shrieks. “Jack is an escaped convict – a serial murderer I believe, wanted by authorities in several states. He sought to 'hide out' here, and I easily subdued him, much the same as I did your family. Jack's brain is now in your body, over there.”

The professor flipped a button on the table and Megan felt machinery beneath her moving, lifting and rotating the table about so she could see across the room. There was her twelve-year old body, strapped down to a similar table. She watched with horror as her old body fluttered its eyelids and slowly regained consciousness.

“Jack?” said the professor. “Mister Scarborough – how are you? Can you speak?”

“Wh-What have you done to me, you freak?” shouted Jack. He had tried to roar angrily, but it only came out as a high-pitched squeak from Megan's younger, smaller body. “I'm... I'm a girl! I'll kill you when I get out of here you miserable, scrawny little, pencil-necked geek!”

“Yes, yes,” dismissed the professor. “But the important thing is that my experiment was a success. And you really shouldn't be complaining so much, Jack. Once I'm done taking some notes on this experiment, you're free to go – and now that you're a twelve-year old girl, you'll no longer be wanted from the law. You and your 'new family' will be free to explore your new lives and do as you please.”

Megan's jaw dropped in shock. Was this wanted criminal going to assume her life and leave her trapped in his body?

What next?
