The drive home seemed longer than it really was.

None of the Donaldsons wanted to talk about what had happened, but none of them could simply pretend things hadn't changed either.

Steve drove the car. He was still an adult, albeit a woman now. He seemed intensely uncomfortable in both his new feminine body and his out-of-date ladylike attire. Although he squirmed frequently, uncomfortable in the tightly-fastened whale-bone corset and antique, female undergarments he now wore, he said nothing during the long drive.

In the back seat of the car, Megan was the next most uncomfortable member of the family. Though she had the body of adult man, both heavily muscled and bearded, she still wore her former clothes – a baby doll tee, a pair of cut off shorts, and pink, sparkly flip flops – all of which looked ridiculously tight on her huge, adult, male body.

Janet and Alan had things easier. Both had switched genders and become little children, but at least their clothing was now tremendously oversized instead of being tightly restrictive. Alan was humiliated and embarrassed to be a tiny, little girl with a ridiculously out-of-date hairstyle. Janet still sat in the front passenger seat of the car, but now squirmed and struggled to keep her blouse and shorts (not to mention her bra and panties) from falling off the tiny, male body she now inhabited.

After an awkwardly silent drive back to their home town, the family arrived at their house in the mid-morning hours of the day. As they pulled into their tidy, suburban driveway, the family could see a neighbor man out mowing his lawn on one side of the house and a mother out playing with her children on the other side of the house.

Much to the Donaldson's surprise, the neighbors treated the family normally, as though nothing at all were out of the ordinary.

“Welcome back from vacation, Stephanie!” called out the mom from next door. “I hope you and Marvin and the kids had fun.”

The man mowing the grass on the other side of the Donaldson's house stopped his mower and called out to Megan: “Marvin, you crazy son of a gun! What's with the goofy get-up you're wearing? Did you and the kids lose a bet or something?”

Aside from Steve, the family was still speechless. He answered for them: “Oh, hi there Mike! We... uh... we were at a costume party late last night and... and just didn't have a chance to change clothes yet.”

“Well, the rest of you didn't have time,” called out the mom from the other lawn. “But Stephanie, I see you looking picture-perfect, just as always. Y'know, I have always admired the graceful way you carry yourself in that lovely retro style. Just back from a long drive, and your dress looks perfect and your hair is immaculate.”

“Oh... thank you Susan,” mumbled Steve, blushing with hot embarrassment at being complimented on being so ladylike.

“You're a lucky fella Marvin!” called Mike from the other lawn. “Stephanie's quite a dish!”

Megan waved weakly at Mike. Then she and the others quickly followed Steve into the house.

“What's going on?” asked Janet in the tiny, high-pitched voice of a little boy. “Why are Susan and Mike calling you 'Stephanie'?”

“I dunno,” sighed Steve. “I guess reality has changed. History has been re-written or something. We're now a different family, and I'm the wife and mother.”

“That's supposed to be!” whined Janet.

“And apparently you dress like a nineteenth century lady,” said Megan to her father.

“We should check our wardrobes,” replied Steve. “I wonder if all four of us now have completely different clothes. We're probably now some eccentric family of weirdos who goes around dressing like its still the 1890s or something.”

What next?
