You decide it would probably be best to head straight to Twilight’s castle. You’re sure you wouldn’t be turned away for being just one day early, and the accommodation would surely be a hundred times better than any hotel you could find.
The castle is on the other side of the town center, so it seems a good idea to walk around the town, rather than through it; this is simply not time for distractions - nothing which might pull you away from your duties here in Ponyville. Besides, you’ll have plenty of time to make friends during your stay.
Soon, you find yourself at the entrance to the castle; a large, imposing door towering above you.
You knock, but there seems to be no kind of response. You wat, and then knock again, but once more there is nothing.
You step back and look around you, up towards the windows of the castle and along each wall that you can see.
Aha. One of the windows on the first floor is open, and there seems to even conveniently be a ladder somepony left against the wall. You don’t want Twilight to think you’re breaking in, but once you find her you can easily explain yourself.
Or... wait around for someone to answer the door.
