A few hours ago, Wonder Woman had been fighting her nemesis, Circe, in Gateway city. The sorceress cast a spell and Diana suddenly found herself in a strange, rundown version of her current home where every other building was a fast food place! The effects of this showed on the population as every man, woman, and child was morbidly obese. They also dressed in wrinkled and messy clothes that were covered in food stains. She walked through the streets trying to spot something familiar, but whatever she did see was distorted in some way.
People seemed to recognize her and were glad for her presence, but looked at the Amazon somewhat oddly. She thought she heard a few people muttering about her losing weight as they passed her by. She continued to walk until she heard her own stomach growl rather loudly. Had it really been that long since she'd eaten?
With a shrug, she decided to enter the nearest burger joint. The smell of grease and body odor wafted through the air, nearly making her gag. The customers around her were quite gassy and added to the unpleasant odors every few minutes. One couple, a teenage boy and girl who were covered in acne, were having a belching contest when the boy suddenly farted. Rather than be disgusted, the girl farted right back and started a new contest. Diana shook her head at the sight, unsure whether to be disgusted or amused. A particularly disgusting belch suddenly caught her attention and her jaw dropped when she saw the offender.
"Cassie!?" It was indeed Cassie Sandsmark, demi-goddess daughter of Zeus and bearer of the title of "Wonder Girl." She was as obese as anyone and was clearly struggling to fit into her uniform. The biggest, messiest burger that Diana had ever seen was clutched in her hands. The teenage super heroine turned at the mention of her name and let out a gasp of her own. "Diana!? What happened to you!? You look so...thin and you smell like you've had a shower!"
"It was Circe," Diana explained, deciding to ignore the clear disgust in her young protege's voice. "She cast a spell and-now-!"
"That explains it." Cassie interrupted in a relieved sounding voice. "Come on, let's get you fattened back up and kick her ass!" Before Diana could object, she was hoarded into the booth and served a burger even more massive than the one Cassie was eating. It was disgusting looking, but her stomach still roared at the sight of it. What could she do?
