This choice: Something goes wrong and Lena shrinks herself by accident ! • Go Back... One problem with Lena's plan was that due to her shrink gun being a prototype while she knew it worked she wasn't aware of any potential flaws in the design or side effects/defects, in this case the power source/ shrinking material being unstable. This probably wouldn't have meant much except she WAS aware the device needed a minute to power up (which would have made it a dawdle for a trained agent like Alex, or say Supergirl, to disarm her), so she had it activated but with what could best be described as the safety's on when she strapped it to her leg.
During the meal the containment chamber cracked, a slight purple glow hidden by her long black dress. As the device continued to fall apart Lena began to twitch and develop a migraine, Kara noticing and trying to comfort her but she just waved her off as it being a long day and she was sure the evening would make it worth while. The blond smiles tensely, obviously unsatisfied but still lets it go, returning to her own food that was about 3 times what everyone else was eating.
Lena's problems reached their climax when Kara went to get desert, the shrink gun having broken and contaminated Lena enough the core was actually affecting her: purple veins, not too dissimilar to kryptonite poisoning on Supergirl appeared on the visible skin of her body, Sam being the first to notice though it wasn't until her body seized up that Alex and Lena herself noticed, a momentary purple tint filled her vision just before the world began to expand around her and Lena's mind screamed 'No! this wasn't supposed to happen!'. She supposed it was a good thing her clothes were affected too, not wanting to be seen naked in front of her two best friends... and Kara's disapproving big sister, the only exception being her shoes, simply because she'd already slipped out of them before hand, heels were never something she was particularly happy to wear, they were just part of the formal ensemble. When the effects finally stopped Lena guessed she was about the size of a small doll, something she was sure she would have enjoyed having the other 3 women be previously, but now she was shrunk and at their mercy, she felt panic enter her bones
'Lena' Kara yelps, picking up her friend and cradling her to her chest 'Are you okay, did something happen? This is my first time making a full meal, did I cause this? I didn't do anything special, all earth grown, human consumable food, I don't understand' Lena smiled a little at her friend's ramble but knew she was going to have to come up with something other than 'I planned to shrink you and the device shrunk me instead' a small part of her glad the broken device had been crushed between her thighs just before she'd regained full motor control. It was one of these days when being a Luthor (and therefore almost universally hated) came in handy
'I was attacked this morning' she admits, Kara and Sam gasp while Alex looks worried 'He threw something at me, no idea what it was and it cut me. I...I shot him, the police took away the body and I thought everything was fine, I thought nothing of it... well until I became CEO Barbie' Lena grumbles into Kara's perky chest, she had told the truth, she had been attacked except she hadn't let it get far enough for him to attack her, he'd monologue like a lot of idiots did, about how Lilian sent him because Lena was being too friendly with aliens how she was ruining all the hard work she'd been doing since Cadmus was created as the army's alien research division. It was long and boring and Lena couldn't be arsed caring what the mad bat had to say, so she shot him in the face.
'Don't worry Lena, we'll fix this' Kara promises
'And until then, at least you do well as CEO Barbie' Sam teases getting an unseen eye roll from the shrunken Irish ravenette
So?
1) Kara wants to find out what was wrong with Lena as soon as possible, Alex suggests bringing her to the DEO but Sam argues for L Corp, mostly because besides Kara the DEO would rather Lena be dead in a ditch than be helpful to the youngest Luthor
2) Seeing as she was safest with them they decide to continue girl's night, planning to find out what happened in the morning. Kara has lots of fun planned for the evening, and she's sure she can alter them to include Lena new condition, as well as give all 3 normal sized women the chance to take advantage of Lena's reduced size   indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
