Chapter #3Corbus by: Unknown The choice was a no brainer in your mind. You knew that you had gotten a high score on your servant aptitude test, but still you had to pinch yourself to make sure you weren’t dreaming when Corbus Draken’s name came up on the list. The eponymous dragon of the Draken Empire, who could pass up the opportunity to be in his presence, even if just by being his servant? Without any more thought on the matter, you ticked the box to the left of the emperor's name. You knew you made the right decision.
Within a week, you found yourself being transported to the Imperial Palace of the Draken Empire, and the official residence of Corbus and his family. To your surprise, you were not going to be moving off world for your new place in life; the Palace had been moved onto Earth. Apparently, the Dragons, and the Draken family especially, found humanity so interesting and engaging with all it’s flaws and curiosity, that they made Earth the new capital planet. It had to be placed somewhere far away from civilization on barren land however, due to the massiveness of a structure that houses 200 feet dragons with ease.
You had spent the better half of the last week inside a box, small enough for a dragon that it could fit in their palm and big enough for you that it doubled as a studio apartment. Despite the fact that the Draken Empire was a space faring civilization that was almost entirely comprised of fantastic creatures, it still had the infamous slog of bureaucracy. Your box had been shifted around from one place to the next, changing dragon hands whilst taking care not to disturb the delicate cargo inside.
Once you finally arrived at the Imperial Palace, you poked your head out of your little box window to see it in person. The great sight was comprised of six thick, square towers that dwarfed everything below them, connected by enormous, heavy walls made of brilliant white. Elaborate, stained glass windows were placed across the walls geometric patterns, along with holes and sniper’s nests for artillery
The dragon who was carrying your box, passed through the massive metal doors and entered the building proper. The whole interior was decorated with remnants of past victorious battles, from broken swords and shields to rusting energy rifles and shock grenades. After filling in a short security form, you were once gain exchanged to another dragon’s hands and carried to the great throne room. Magnificent braziers attached to one side of each of the six ivory columns light up every part of the throne hall and bathe the hall in a dancing glow of orange. The gems of the many artworks on the embowed ceiling dance in the flickering light while marble icons and statuettes look down upon the grey wood floor of the majestic hall.
The dragon walked his bare feet across the cobalt rug that ran from the throne. You held your breath, excitement and a twinge of nervousness coming up on you in an instant. You didn’t realize that you were feeling this anxious; of what is to come in your new duties or for you to start the, you did not know. Finally, the collapsible ceiling of your little box was opened, and you allowed yourself to be gently picked up in between the courier dragon’s two fingers. You were hoisted up into the air, and the first sight you saw...was him.
There, sitting atop his majestic throne of obsidian in front of a lavish gate of gilden wood, was Corbus Draken, his dazzling ruby red eyes piercing right into your soul. You failed to suppress a gasp as you took the sight of him in. He was...breathtaking. His muscular, defined body sank comfortably into the plush, cobalt pillows that adorned the throne. He only wore polished, gilden leg guards, leaving the rest of his body bare to your eyes. The great emperor gave an amused chuckle as he noticed your reaction, and brought forwards his open hands. Before you realized it, you had been placed inside his grip, and the courier was motioned away.
It was just you and him.
“Hello there, my little human.” Corbus greeted you in a thick, heavy voice that boomed in your ears and shook your body. “I assume you already know who I am?” He gave you a prideful grin, clearly knowing of your flustered emotions caused by his presence.
“Y-y-yes!” You stuttered out a response, finding it disturbingly difficult to force the words out of your throat. “Y-your Corbus Draken, the Emperor of the Draken Empire, and...and your amazing.”
Corbus’s smile grew even larger, his heart swelling further up with pride and adoration for his little servant. “Hmmm, I can’t seem to argue with you on that! And you...do you know who you are?”
“I’m...I am your servant.”
“My servant?” Corbus echoed, almost tasting the words coming off of his lips. “Is that all, my wittle human? Is that all you are, my personal slave?”
“Y...yes.” You respond after a couple seconds of hesitation. “That’s all I am, and it’s all i want to be!” You didn’t mean for you to say that last remark with such enthusiasm. It just came out...naturally.
Corbus let out a sigh of sheer contentment and brought you up to his draconian muzzle. You found yourself being nuzzled by the great emperor's red scales. They were hard as diamonds and soft as cotton at the same time, emanating a great warmth that made you at ease. You did your best to reciprocate the gesture, spreading your limbs out as far as they went and hugged as much as your new master’s flesh as possible.
“You certainly are the eager one, my little human” Corbus purred, delighting in his new servant’s antics. “I was going to give you a day to prepare before I asked you to do anything...but I don’t think that will be necessary.”
What does Corbus have you do first? indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
