Make sure it's shiny.

You plan to bathe your Vaporeon a bit. While it is true that it winds up in water a lot, to begin with, there's definitely room to give it a nice shine.

You go grab the biggest towels you own along with a bucket full of clean water. You then begin cleaning off the Vaporeon, making its skin shinier as you go along. You start with the paws (It gets a bit tickled as you do this), then work your way up to its legs. Afterward, it lies on its side as you polish its chest and belly. Once you're done with that, it lies down on its belly as you take care of the back, the tail, and then the head and neck.

Once you're done, its skin is so clean that you can almost see yourself in it. It seemed to enjoy all the petting you essentially gave it, and it jumps on you yet again, licking you and smothering you with affection.
